I think that it is easier to not worry about a "ball" shape. Do the shape you want then press the topping(s) of your choice all over the outside. We like the toffee/small choc. chip mixture the best on the outside. The absolute favorite "dipper" is the square pretzel so that you can make a "sandwich" with the great dip in the middle. The 3 and a half year old grandson loved asking for a "sandwich" off the Christmas food table. I do increase the conf. sugar to 1 cup and the brown sugar to 3 TBS.
