Spiced Peach Oatmeal Muffins

I would say that "spiced" is a misnomer, there is hardly any spice in these at all. I also found the molasses to be overpowering. Next time I would add more cinnamon, ginger, and maybe even some cardamom for a truly spiced peach muffin. I followed the recipe except that I addded salt, used half whole wheat flour, and added a bit of butter and flour to the topping for more of a streussel effect. They are not very sweet, and certainly healthier than your average muffin.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

I don't understand why people complain that this recipe is too spicy. Obviously with 2 cans of green chilies, 2 jalapenos, and 1/4 c of chili powder it's going to be rather spicy. Just think before you add ingredients folks. I don't like super spicy food so I always omit the cans of chilies when I make this and it's just fine. I give the recipe 4 stars because I never have exactly followed it, but it really does give you a good starting point for a fine veggie chili.

Granny Mabel's Best Bar Cookies

I was looking to make something similar to Sheila's Dream Bars and came across this recipe. It comes pretty close. I couldn't find caramel topping so I used dulce de leche, which was just lovely. As far as the butter goes I unfortunately decided to follow the recipe and I have to agree, 1.5 cups is way too much butter (and I love butter). You can feel the grease ooze out from between your teeth when you chew them. I will definitely make these again and definitely only use 1 cup of butter.

Easy Pie Crust

I used this recipe to make a crust for an apple pie. As others suggested, I decreased the salt and added sugar. In the end all that I can say is, I don't know which was worse, the flavor or the texture. This crust really tasted like vegetable oil and crumbled to bits when the pie was served. I could see this working for a quiche, maybe. For fruit pies, I would sooner use a store bought crust than make this again.
