Pan-Seared Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
This was pretty good. Very easy to make. I used lemon-pepper seasoning instead of the salt and pepper and it was delicious.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
This was very good. I used the recipe as a starting point and changed it to my liking. First, I seared the sausage in olive oil with garlic, and then added frozed green beans to the pan. I placed 2 sliced onions at the bottom of a roasting pan, added all of the other ingredients (I added rosemary and a pinch of Tony Chachere's) and roasted it at 425 degrees for about 40 minutes. The family really liked this dish. Very easy.

Swedish Meatballs I

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
This was very tasty. I made this for my family using a crock pot and frozen meatballs. I added 1/2 pint sour cream, mushrooms, 2 cloves minced garlic and a dash of Tony Checheree seasoning to the other ingredients and put everything in the crock pot at one time. Everyone liked this dish.

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
I made a few changes and it turned our pretty good. I didn't have any orange juice, so I added 1 tsp of orange extract instead. I removed the skin from the chicken thighs to reduce the fat. I also added about 1/4 cup of honey and some ground ginger. I would make this again.

Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
This dish turned out to be very tasty. I was pressed for time tonight so I cooked the pot roast on high in the slow cooker for 3 hours, rather that on low for 6 hours. I also used baby carrots instead. Quick and easy.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
Very good for a quick cake. I usually don't use boxed cake mix in my recipes because I prefer all ingredients from scratch. But I made this cake very quickly on a week night and happened to have the cake mix in the pantry. I didn't have any chocolate instant pudding so I used vanilla instant pudding instead and added 2 tablespoons of baking cocoa powder and a tsp of chocolate extract. The cake is very moist and yummy.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Very good cookies. I only used a teaspoon for the batter for each cookie and they are the perfect size. I took the advice of another review and used softened margarine instead of butter -- perfect!

Very good. My teenage daughter made this for the family and everyone enjoyed it. Add a layer of provolone cheese on each pork chop for added flavor.

Zucchini and Corn Topped with Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Big hit at the dinner table. Next time I will leave out the corn because it seemed to be thrown in for the heck of it. I think that it would have been fine without it. I used less cheese too and used cheddar and mozzarella (instead of the montary jack). Also, I added 3 cloves of fresh garlic, chopped.

Nana V's Company Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I only gave this four stars because I think that this topping would be awesome on top of a fresh pound cake loaf made from scratch. I felt like the topping deserved more than a yellow box cake. But I added 2 tsp of almond extract to the cake mix and it was good. Also, the topping is very pretty with blueberries and strawberries.

Slow Cooker Sausage With Mixed Barbecue Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
I made this quick and easy dish tonight and it is fantastic. I love the fact that I can make this in my slow cooker. This is a great Saturday meal. I didn't have any pinto or great northern beans so I just used red beans, black beans and vegetarian baked beans and it turned out great. Also, I drained the red and black beans, but did not rinse them and the results were fine.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
Delicious. I don't think that I rolled the dough out enough because the crust was very thick. Also, I had to add a little bit more flour because the dough was a little too sticky. But the pizza turned out great with this recipe. I think that the brown sugar is the key.
