Cherry Crunch

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
I made this with blueberry pie filling instead of cherry and I used whole wheat flour instead of white. It's really easy and really fantastic.

Cinnamon-Marshmallow Surprises

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
These were so quick and so yummy :) They taste like cinnamon buns!!...i sprinkled a little truvia and cinnamon directly onto the flattened dough and added the marshmallow...i didn't use any butter and didn't miss it at all...from start to finish this took like 20 min...

Cranberry Walnut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
I followed the recipe w/ one change: i used raisins instead of cranberries. The result was delicious!! The cake rose to be huge with a nice brown crust on top...very pretty. Perfect amount of nuts and raisins; enough to get a couple of each in every bite. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because it was pretty dry...didn't stop everyone in my house from eating it though :)

Teriyaki and Pineapple Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
Very very tasty and easy. I cooked it as directed except for the addition of the flour at the end. The sauce seemed thick enough after simmering for a few minutes. Other that that it didn't need anything but a dash of salt. But beware! That crushed red pepper gives a very spicy kick!!!

Lentil Soup III

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Very good soup recipe although i made a few adjustments...i diced up some celery and carrots in addition to the onions and garlic and sauteed those before adding the broth an lentils...i added some black pepper and paprika, and used petite diced tomatoes instead of the paste for a heartier feel. Cookers beware: the lentils took about 1.5 hours to really soften as opposed to the 30 minutes stated in the cook time. At 30 minutes my beans were pretty crispy still. Very very good soup in the end though...and i think it will be even better tomorrow :)

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Amazingly good cobbler...and soooooo easy to put together...my only recommendation is to please please please follow the directions and use a deep baking dish or else put a baking sheet under a regular baking dish because this cobbler does bubble...it ended up all over the bottom of my oven!!

Corn Fritters Canadian Style

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Made directly from the recipe these were a disaster...i cooked about three of them then tossed the rest of the batter out...they were gooey and very bland in taste...i think the gooeyness may be due to the fact that my cream corn was more cream than anything haha...but every cook should be able to tweak a recipe according to their own needs so i can't be too harsh...if i ever do work up the courage to try this recipe again ill be prepared for some major adjustments...

Black Bean Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Very good soup...quick and easy although it is definitely more of a vegetable soup (as the name implies) than a traditional black bean soup...i did find it to be a little watery for my taste...to alleviate this i added the black bean liquid (which i saved for some reason) which gave it a little more thickness and a more black beany feel...but i guess a flour/water mix could thicken as well...all in all very good soup...
