Buttery Soft Pretzels

yum! as others have said, it's a great recipe! i cut down the flour to approximately 4 cups, and followed the recipe exactly. after they finished baking, i brushed melted butter on them and coated them with cinnamon sugar or lightly sprinkled salt. delicious! :)

Boyfriend Brownies

Oops forgot to add in the second batch of 12 oz chocolate chips. The result? A bit more of a cake-y brownie. The brownies also weren't too sweet, which I like! Like the others, I used a 9x13 pan. Definitely filled the pan. Can't wait to try this recipe again, this time with ALL the ingredients :)

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse

The flavor is amazing! Rich and keeps your mouth watering for more. One word of caution about heating the egg yolks. It's better to use a metal thermometer instead of a candy thermometer. The metal thermometer will measure the temperature more accurately. Also, keep stirring the egg mixture over heat otherwise the bottom layer may start cooking. When that happens, the bottom cooked egg layer will be at a different temperature than the uncooked top layer. Don't be fooled into thinking the temperature isn't hot enough!

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

This cake was more bitter than I expected. Not sure what happened to the batter, but it tasted like too much flour or baking powder was in it. I took other people's advice about the streusel and put it in after the cake finished baking. The streusel was delicious though! I would make it gain with a bit more sugar and vanilla extract though!

Happy Birthday Cake

Baked this twice and it was denser than I thought. I didn't separate the eggs the second time but got similar results. I would add more vanilla extract (maybe a tablespoon) for more flavor. However it pairs nicely with light whipped cream and some berries :)
