Mocha Icing

I took the advice of some others & made the coffee stronger but that made it too coffee tasting to me but my mother who likes coffee loved it so I think it's all based on your preference. The texture was perfect for piping.

Black Magic Cake

Excellent; very moist & great texture. I baked in a 13x9 inch pan, had to substitute milk (1c) with cream of tartar (1 3/4 tsp) for the buttermilk b/c I didn't have any & it still turned out delicious!! Only thing was it didn't rise very well in the middle but that really didn't matter to me b/c the taste made up for it. This will definitely be my chocolate cake recipe. Frosted mine with a caramel frosting but the cake is so good you could get away with no frosting at all!!

Scrumptious Penuche Frosting

Very yummy; I only made a few changes - 1/3 cup of heavy whipping cream instead of half-n-half & 1/2tsp of vanilla as I didn't want it to take over the flavor. Also I just put the butter in saucepan, melted it added the sugar & stirred well for about a minute & then added the whipping cream & then continue to stir for about 2-3 minutes. Then removed from heat, added the vanilla & salt and transferred to bowl & added the sifted powdered sugar.

This had a good texture but I didn't care for the flavor,was too bitter for my taste...think if I had used milk choc chips instead it would be better

Brown Sugar Brownies

This was very tasty & easy to make, was a tiny bit dry so I made the sauce from Granny's Cake on this site, poked some holes & poured over the top. Would make again, trying some add ins.

Milly's Oatmeal Brownies

Great recipe; you can really customize it by adding what you like & it's pretty much fool proof. I made mine with butterscotch, white & milk choc chips, golden raisins, dried cranberries, & pecans (about 1/3C of each). I did have to bake it for an extra 10 minutes, but other than that this was perfect; will definitely make again!!
