Sour Cream Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
How do I love thee, Sour Cream Potatoes? Let me count the ways. My Last Meal might just be a big mountain of these potatoes. Or my answer to the proverbial "if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life"... might just be these potatoes. I would be in Sour Cream Potatoes bliss. Pass the potatoes!

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
This is even yummier than Stouffer's mac and cheese... and I mean that as a compliment. :) I guess as far as macaroni and cheese goes it's a fairly basic recipe but it's oh so good.

Curry Glazed Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
Another really simple recipe - just 5 ingredients - but big on flavor. Couldn't be easier to put together and pop in the oven. The chicken breasts turn out so moist and tender. Yum!

Coca Cola Chicken

Three ingredients - it doesn't get any easier than this! A super easy main dish. The Coke and bbq sauce make a tasty sauce.

Scalloped Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
This is a simple one and doesn't really pack a punch when it comes to big flavor, but it's still yummy stick-to-your-ribs comfort food. The pork chops always come out nice and tender and adding more cheese doesn't hurt either. :)

Tammy's Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
For some reason this is better when Tammy makes it (even though I follow her recipe exactly) but either way it's delicious. I could eat bowl after bowl of this stuff. Good thing it makes a lot because the leftovers are just as good.

Cake Batter Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
I'm not a sweets fan but this is tasty. A little time consuming with the stirring every 15 minutes, but worth it. I made this as a gift and it was a hit.

Loaded Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
This is actually 3.5 stars but AR doesn't allow for half-star ratings. The taste is good but I think it would be better using regular, fresh potatoes. There's something about the texture of the frozen ones that doesn't appeal to me.

Classic Turkey Club Sandwich with Cajun Mayannaise

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2012
This is a nice take on the typical club sandwich. Kind of like a cross between a club and a BLT... kicked up a notch. The Cajun mayonnaise really makes it special.

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
What a delicious side dish/salad! Was looking for something to go with our 4th of July menu. I made the Marinated Greek Chicken Kabobs (from this site) and this salad was the perfect accompaniment. I served it warm instead of cold. Next time I might add more lemon juice for even more tang but it's great as-is. The marinade from the artichoke hearts gave great flavor, too. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Patrice!

Marinated Greek Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
Yum! Made these for our 4th of July cookout and they were a hit. A bit messy to assemble but that was part of the fun. :) I'm not sure how much feta flavor came from marinating and it's not as if it stuck to the kabobs so next time I'll take another reviewers advice and blend/process the marinade to incorporate the feta better. We used zuchinni instead of the peppers and onions. Also served Greek Orzo Salad from this site. Dinner was delicious and I'll be making this again. Thanks for sharing your recipe, katplusgoll!

Incredibly Easy Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Yum! This is comfort food to the max. This was delicious and made a lot - had plenty leftover for lunch the next day. This was very easy to put together (just as the recipe name says) and I loved the one-pot aspect - throw everything in and heat. I think the dish would be perfectly delcious as-is but I did make a few additions. Sliced carrots and celery, some chicken base and poultry seasoning, and once the noodles were cooked I added a cup of half-and-half to make it rich and creamy. We'll definitely have this again. Thanks, Tammy, for sharing your recipe!

Broccoli Casserole I

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
This was neither a hit nor a miss at my house. The taste was okay but I was not a fan of the consistency. It seemed a little mushy, possibly due to the instant rice. If I make this again I'll use a firmer, regular rice - and possibly broccoli florets instead of the chopped broccoli.

The Best Parmesan Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2012
This was actually a 3.5 star dish for me but since I think that was due to my own variations I'm giving it 4 stars. This seems more like a "deconstructed chicken parmesan" than a true chicken parm, particularly since the chicken was not breaded and browned before baking. But it sounded tasty enough to give it a go. Flavor-wise it's a solid 4 stars. I think thatwill have a lot to do with whatever marinara/red sauce you choose since that's where the main flavor punch comes from. I used thin-sliced chicken breasts since that's what I had on hand and they were kind of lost amidst the sauce/cheese/croutons. My mistake. Next time I'll use larger chicken breasts. Also, I chose to top everything off with a bit more sauce befor epopping it in the oven. Unfortunately that made for more soggy/less crunchy croutons. But again, that was *my* mistake. One I won't make again. The flavor was great, though, so I'll definitely try this again.

Peppered Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2012
Good but not great - but I think that's a matter of personal taste and no reflection on the recipe at all. I followed the recipe - prebaking the meatballs and then adding to slow cooker. The only minor adjustment I made was to scale back slightly on the pepper, based on other reviews. I liked the sauce and thought it worked well with the meatballs, almost a stroganoff style. I served it over noodles and added a side salad. My husband definitely prefers a red sauce so this isn't something I will make often but I will make it now and then as a change from the typical meatballs and red sauce. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Darla!

Jagerschnitzel

I think we have a keeper. This was easy to prepare and not too involved or time-consuming for a weeknight. My husband and I both enjoyed it. I especially liked the creamy mushroom sauce. Thanks for sharing your recipe, DSPIRAL73!

Mom's Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
Delicious! I doubled up and made two pans of this for a family gathering and it was a huge hit. I used no-boil noodles to save time and it was a cinch to put together. Then 10 minute sitting time is a must. Everyone had second helpings and raved about it. This is a keeper!

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Very tasty! I used the whole envelope of ranch seasoning but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Came out moist and delicious. My husband had two servings and made meatloaf sandwiches the next night. I'd say this one is a keeper.
