Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2012
I started making this one night for dinner thinking it wasn't going to take me very long to make. The prep time was longer then I thought. I cut the beef up into small strips, that took awhile, then to dry and refrigerate and dip each peice into cornstarch, seemed to take forever. Maybe if you put the beef peices into a bowl and tosted them around to cover them with cornstarch, would have been a great way to save time. I tweeked the recipe a little, I doubled the sauce like others suggested, I added red pepper flakes for a little heat, and I also added chopped onion to the ginger and orange zest, then cooked them in the sauce till tender. It turned out amazing! The only thing I would probably change. I would add a little more red pepper flakes maybe 2 tsp instead of one,...if you like some heat, and I wouldn't add as much grated ginger to it. All I could teast was the ginger,...but was still out of this world. Definetly making this again!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
My husband and I made two small/medium sized pizza's from this pizza dough recipe. Oooooh man did it turn out AWESOME! Like some other reviewers suggested I prebaked my pizza dough. I rolled it out as best as I could (1st time) and as thin as I could because we both really love thin crust pizza's. Then placed it on a pizza stone with lots of corn flour, I think we only baked the pizza dough for 10-15 mins each, just enough so it was firm and not dough like anymore. Then we flipped over the cooled pizza crust and put all of our sauces and topping on it, then placed back onto the pizza stone, and cooked for remaining time,..sorry foget how long I baked for. It tuned out awesome though. I was a little worried about the pizza tuning out soggy with all the sauce and ingredients on the raw dough before baking, but this way worked out perfectly!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
I made this lasagna yesterday for tonights dinner. It turned out really nice and thick, full of flavor and cheesy!!! The only thing I would change next time I make it, will be the amount of salt I add to the sauce. It calls for 1 tablespoon, way too much! When I was making it, I thought to myself "this seems like a lot of salt!" I think tops maybe a 1/2 teaspoon. Remember the sauce is salty, the sausage is salty, and so is all that cheese. Still is one of the best lasagna's I've ever have though.

Cream Cheese Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
Very yummy pie! Made just as the recipe said, and truned out darn good! I did put a little more corn starch in with the blueberries, so it wouldn't be runny, and I didn't make the whipping cream I just bought a container of it, and used that, but other then that stuck to the recipe. Nice and light cream cheese with the whipping cream.

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
When I first made this soup I only made as much as the recipe called for,...then I tasted it. Trust me on this, double this recipe if your going to make it!! It goes very fast. This soup is probably my new favorite soup. One other thing I kind of added, is I added about 1/2 teaspoon or 1 full teaspoon of red pepper flakes in the with chicken broth, depending on if your making the recipe as is or doubling it. I also added my cut up chicken in with the chicken broth so it would cook, because I didn't have any cooked chicken laying around. Definetly make this soup, you won't be sorry you did!

Yummy Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
I made this lasagna it turned out very nice. I liked it, but I couldn't get past the pepperoni in the lasagna. My husband and a girl from work love the pepperoni in it, but I thought the flovor was too strong, so if I do make it again I'll probably just put pepperonis on half of it.

Mustard Sauce for Ham

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Very yummy! It went very well with the ham I cooked, perfect combo of salty and sweet. I did listen to some of the suggestions and used half the amount of sugar, and I just used regular white vinegar, also I did not have mustard powder, so I used prepard yellow mustard.(you have to use 2X the amount of perpard mustard vs. mustard powder) It turned out great!

Lemon Fried Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
I made this for a dinner party one night and now my husband asks for it all the time. When I made it the first time I added 2X more hot sauce, also salt and pepper. 1/8 teaspoon of hot sauce it's not enough, you can't even taste it. I personally like my food with a little zip to it. It was a perfect combo of lemon flavor and spicey, definitly a crowd pleaser! Made this rice with Grilled Lemon Chicken (from AllRecipes),..YUMMY!!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
I really liked how the potatos turned out. The recipe was super easy and turned out very tastey. I sprinkled cheddar cheese ontop of it at the last 10 mins of the baking time, perfect. I would recommend this recipe to anyone, but I also did add onion poweder like others suggested, and some sliced up onions.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
These cookies come out super! I wanted to do something a little different than plan old chocolate chip so I made them into triple chocolate chip cookies, for thanks giving. None of them were left at the end of the night. There is one thing that I will try next time I make these cookies though. I'll try putting in less shortning, and more butter..I'm not sure if it was just me but I felt like I could teast the shortning a little too much. Hands down these are awesome cookies!

Taco Salad Made Over

Pretty good recipe. My husband loved it. I found the taco shells kinda' a pain to bake,..the little tin-foil balls kept sliding out from under the shell. Messy and yummy, probably good for kids.

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
This was an okay recipe. I probably won't ever make it again, but then again I don't really care for baked fish. Maybe if you did it on a skilett it would taest better. It just wasn't very good. The dill sauce was yummy,..but not the fish.

Grilled Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
Awesome! Made this twice so far. Second time I did what one review said to do and I left it over night, way better! The flavour went right through the chicken, and it wasn't tough, it was still really tender. My husband cooked in on low for 25-30mins on the BBQ with the lid closed. Such an easy, YUMMY marinade.

Cajun Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
I've never had a chicken lasagna before this one. It was yummy, but was pretty much just noodle, cheese and chicken, I could hardly teast the veggies in it. I guess if you don't like vegetables it would be okay. I don't think I'll make it again, it wasn't that great. And for those of you would want to try it I would really recommend ADD MORE VEGETABLES!!!!!!!
