About this Cook
Let's see, about me... Cooking... Always loved it. Everybody wants me to cook! I do enjoy it, but never think it is because I am "that good". It is, at this point in my age-ing life, my hobby. That and my passion for gardening! I have been in the landscape and nursery industry my whole life. 30 years! I now managing a new Lowe's Garden Center. I love it. I am into, edible landscaping, and completely believe in incorporating edibles within the everyday landscape. Vegetables can be beautiful! A productive landscape! Who doesn't want that? Anyway... I have two beautiful kids of my own, and two step-sons.
My favorite things to cook
Hhmmm... Everything! Love anything seafood, not than I can afford it. Lots of fresh veggies, was a veggie-tarian for 10 years. Kids, like the junkie stuff, much to my dismay. I need quick meals for my busy schedule. Always looking for slow cooker stuff. Love to bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays! All the fix'ins, tradional style. Also, "They oyster Loaf". A thing my Mother makes, that now I do. It is a story within itself. One day I am going to submit it as a recipe, cause nothing like it is in here! Killer. Husband, always make the fresh cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. He also makes a great Chile Verde.
My cooking triumphs
Its all good if it turns out. Do make a great salad, and salad dressings, great cakes, any casserole. the master of gravy, I must admit. Anything with chicken is a winner. Great enchiladas.
My cooking tragedies
Beef. Not my thing for some reason. Always need DH help. After not being a non meat eater for so many years, I think it is a mental block. I do make a good tri-tip though. I clogged the kitchen sink once with potatoe peelings.I will never do that again! In the trash they go!

Famous Chicken Francaise
Just made it for the first time. Excellent. I did not have any problem with the cooked chicken holding it's floured skin, after adding the broth. I think maybe the success with that came from a previous reviewer. She stated she let the dredged chicken set for a good 20 minutes plus before cooking. I had a beautiful crust that the broth could not penetrate. I did not double dredge. No need. I did add a bit more seasonings to our taste. Very, very good!

Trout with Lime and Thyme
I used this recipe mostly because it was the ingredients I had on hand. Marinated longer than suggested. It can out fantastic! Would surely make it again. DH loved it and me too! Thank you

Emily's Blackberry Cobbler
I have made this super quick recipe many times. It is just wonderful. I tend to always have these ingredients on hand, the fruit I have used fresh and frozen. Sometimes just one fruit, sometimes multiple. It is just great. Top off to a complete 10 with whipped cream and or some vanilla ice cream. We just love it. Don't need to change one thing!
