Hillshire Farm® Sausage Alfredo

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2014
My family loved this recipe. I did double the sauce. I garnished this recipe with fresh Roma tomatoes and chopped green onions. I doubled the sauce because my family loves sauce. I used 2 cups of heavy cream and 2 cups of milk. I did have to add 2 T. flour to make the sauce the consistency my family likes. I used Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning because that is what I had on hand. I only added 1 T. of Creole seasoning as it is very spicy.

Baked Pork Chops and Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
This recipe was easy to make and I like that it went in the oven. The rice in this recipe was outstanding and flavorful. I am going to make this recipe again because time got away from me on checking the pork chops. I would suggest checking the pork chops at 40-45 minutes to see if the meat is at 145º. I unfortunately overcooked my pork chops. So, I was a bit disappointed in myself. Forgive me, rev'd up chef. I will try again because I think this recipe is probably excellent when rev'd up chef made it. My husband couldn't say enough about the rice. A good recipe on a cold night!

Sharon's Egg and Ham Scramble

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2014
An excellent recipe. Directions are clear and easy to follow. Easy to make! The scrambled eggs are so fluffy and my family loved them. I would double the jalapeno because we like our eggs a bit more spicy!

Napa Style Roasted Vegetables with Diamond Crystal® Sea Salt

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2014
An excellent recipe. I cut this recipe in 1/2 to serve 4 adults and 1 child. I would suggest watching the baking time. The veggies did not take an hour. I would check them at 45 minutes to see if the vegetables are ready to eat. I didn't have any fresh thyme, so I sprinkled dried thyme on the veggies. The roasted vegetables were so colorful and everyone enjoyed them. This is a good way to get your kids to eat vegetables. My 6 year old granddaughter and my husband ate the squash without the usual what is that. My family liked everything except the green apple. The green apple was a bit mushy. Next time, I will add a Honey Crisp apple and watch the baking time. I am thinking the apple would take about 15-20 minutes of baking.

Spinach Salad with Pomegranate Cranberry Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2014
Excellent! This Spinach Salad was tart, sweet and savory. I did use 7-Up to prevent the apples from turning brown. I also used my salad spinner to rinse the spinach. Due to the fact my family likes different amounts of dressing on their salad, I served the dressing on the side. Therefore, I had a lot of dressing left over. I will definitely make this salad again. Thanks, Mazola for the great recipe!

Cranberry Orange Tea Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2014
I like the concept of using applesauce instead of oil. I would add extra cinnamon and perhaps vanilla or orange extract to enhance the flavor of this bread. Perhaps, add more butter and use only 1/2 cup of applesauce.

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
A good recipe for pasta lovers. An easy recipe that pleases my pasta loving family. I cooked up 2 Italian sausages, cut into small round pieces which added a little zing to the dish. I also cooked up 1/2 pound of ground beef. Since I didn't have any jar sauce, I made my own sauce.

Haunted Oreos®

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
The Oreos are so festive for Halloween. I melted the white chocolate chips in a heat proof glass large measuring cup. I placed the cup in the microwave and stirred after every 20 seconds until melted. Insert a toothpick before coating the Oreos. I also placed the oreos on cooling rack so I didn't have to scrap off the extra melted chocolate around the edges. I added some yellow and red food coloring for the pumpkins. I also bough some black food coloring for the pumpkin eyes. The container is a 12 oz. cup cut down to two inches. I used tacky glue to add scrapbook paper and added a ribbon. Add candy and Oreos to make a cute give away Halloween treat.

Delicious Popcorn Crunch

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
The sweet popcorn was easy to make. The sugar syrup was not too hard or too soft. I made some witches' shoes out of black cardstock and scrapbook paper. I added the popcorn to a clear bag and tied it with a ribbon and placed in the witches' shoes.

Erin's Fun Turkey Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2014
I had trouble with this recipe. First, I couldn't find the string licorice. Next, when I dropped the cookie on the baking sheet the cookie did not spread, it just stayed in a ball. The directions do not say whether frosting is used even though I assume it probably was to adhere the candy corn and other candies to the cookie.

Slow Cooker Chocolate-Covered Nuts

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
Excellent! A nice way to make a bunch of candy for gifts. These were so easy. I used a melon ball scooper because I wanted small servings. You could probably add some mini m & m's, or other candy. Very easy to make. I was worried the mixture would dry up before I finished scooping the candy onto the waxed paper. The recipe made so much that I better give some away to prevent me from eating it all.

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2014
We love pulled pork. My family was surprised they liked the slaw on top of the pulled pork. Be sure to have extra BBQ sauce on hand, in our case it is Sweet Baby Rays. This was an easy clean up with the Reynold's slow cooker bag.

Texas Hotdog Sauce-

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2014
I really wanted to like this recipe. It sounded so good. I let my family rate this recipe. My family was not a fan of this recipe. In order to please my family, I did tweak the recipe. I doubled the recipe. I used a whole can of tomato soup, 1/2 cup of ketchup, 1 tsp. mustard, 1 tsp. garlic powder, and 1 tsp. of onion powder. Also, the cinnamon was not something my family likes in a topping for hot dogs. My family also didn't like the bread crumbs. So, I would leave those two items out. To thicken it, I would make a roux with flour. After all the changes, my family rated this recipe as a 4.

Slow Cooker Mexican Beef Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2014
A comforting stew with a zing. I only used 1/2 tsp. of New Mexico Chili powder because it is so hot. I did make a roux so the stew was thicker. Melt 3 Tbsp. of butter in a pan on medium heat. Add 3 Tbsp. of flour. Stir and cook at least five minutes. Add beef broth slowly to the roux while stirring. It should immediately begin to thicken. Bring to a simmer while stirring to avoid lumps. Add to stew and stir. Cook for at least 5-10 minutes until incorporated. The bread bowl was the perfect way to eat this stew! I used the Reynolds liners which makes it a breeze to clean up.

Spinach and Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2014
This salad is excellent. I used almonds in the salad because my family is not fond of sesame seeds or poppy seeds. I also used 1/2 the sugar as suggested by others. I could eat this salad every day!

Morning Delight Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2014
My daughter and I enjoyed eating this quiche. The quiche has sausages in every bite along with plenty of cheese and a hint of cilantro. I liked the hash brown crust instead of using a dough crust. Make sure you thaw out the hash browns and then blot the hash browns with a paper towel.

Jenny's Lime Glazed Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2014
The chicken was very moist. I only used 1/2 of the mayo and 1/2 the parmesan. I added some garlic powder and parsley. If your chicken doesn't brown at 17 minutes broil under the broiler for a few minutes.
