Christmas Gifts I Have To Share

I thought I would share a few items I bought for special people on my list. Maybe these ideas will give you a few good ideas. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love baking the Christmas goodies, wrapping the presents, and especially finding that special gift for someone on my list. This year, I found several gifts less than $25.00 and I thought the gifts were really cool. I love finding gifts that serve a purpose.  Here are a few gifts I bought for people.  Vacuvin Quick Skewer

I love anything that saves me time in the kitchen. My son-in-law is quite the chef in our family and he loves using the grill. I thought this quick skewer would be handy in making kabobs. Open the skewer, load it, and then close it. Push the wooden skewer through and you have a kabob, ($7.75.)41rwnIFP--L

Drop Stop-The original patented gap filler

I don't know about you, but the  gap next to our car seats and center console has swallowed our phones, keys, and credit card. I bought this for my husband. Hopefully this little item will help, ($19.99 + shipping.)41ZJ9B+QelL._SY450_

FreshETech Waterproof Blue Tooth Wireless Shower Speaker

The speaker connects to your smartphone. You can change the song or even answer your phone or any media player while you are in the shower.  I bought this for my future daughter-in-law who loves to listen to music, ($21.95.)311f9EkgPRL

Rachael Ray Lazy Spoon and Ladle

Leave it to Rachael Ray to come up with such colorful utensils. The utensils hook on the side of the pot and are heat proof up to 500 degrees. The spoon and ladle are large and heavy. I ordered the purple for my daughter who loves purple. The purple unfortunately looks black. All the other colors are true to the photos, ($17.49.) 31JMat0oQ9L

Now, the only downfall of ordering these clever gifts is I couldn't help but order the spoons for myself. Merry Christmas Everyone!

I am sorry I can't remove the annoying font that appears in the blog.

I saw that gap device on the Shark Tank and thought it looked promising. I am not that big on teacher gifts. (old codger voice) When I was in school, giving gifts to teachers was not allowed. I suspect that was because the area I grew up in was pretty deprived and many families wouldn't have been able to keep up. Truthfully, I think that's a good policy. But when we were buying our Christmas tree, I saw paper white bulbs in Ball jars on top of pretty white stones. They were $6.95 so I grabbed 3 so each of my girls can give one to her teacher.

Hi manella, I am also making some food gifts and the body butter for a few of my friends. I have to wait for the ingredients to get here. I really like the idea of the vanilla essence. If you do order the spoons they are quite large and heavy. I don't know if you can use Amazon or not, but that is where I ordered the spoons.

Hi Terry, yes I was disappointed in the purple spoons. I thought I had a winner with the color for my daughter. So, if you are looking for purple spoons-it is a no go. My daughter would love it if she could paint her kitchen purple. I bet the tea pot is just beautiful. Oh, Terry there are some purple utensils on Amazon-http://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Craft-Colourworks-Spoon-Flexible/dp/B004UBKR9Y

Hello, Nina. I wish I could just wiggle my nose and get rid of that annoying font. Sometimes it appears, and sometimes it doesn't on AR.

That font happens to me too. Honestly, the programming here lately seems like an afterthought. You found some really unique gifts. I will be checking out those gap covers they sound like a really good idea. Thanks for sharing your finds!

Good Evening Big Shots Mom, (Sigh, first AR removes the most popular blogs on the front page, then, the photos and tags, and now I get the strange fonts.) It makes me think the blogging is really not a priority on AR. I know the gap covers will be good solution. I have to get out of my car and search for things that fall in the black hole.

Lela I was at Kohl's today and they have bright purple utensils. They were silicone and I think they were food network brand but not positive on that. I didn't check the price but maybe they will have them on their website.

About Me
I enjoy cooking for our family sit down dinners. Although my kids are grown, we are a close family that enjoys 4-5 sit down dinners a week together. My family's favorite dinner is chicken enchiladas smothered in green chili. I have a passion for cooking, baking for the holidays and food photography.
My favorite things to cook
I am family oriented and spend time with my family enjoying meals. My favorite things to cook are Mexican food and any food my family asks me to cook. My family looks forward to home cooked Mexican food at least once a week and Italian food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am on a journey to reclaim family recipes that were lost when the cooks in my family passed away. Cooking traditions are a major part of my passion for cooking. On Christmas Eve, we always had green chili and tamales. Cookie baking, lemon bars, pizzelles , and potica have been a must at Christmas as long as I can remember. My family looks forward to homemade pizza, when we gather as a family to decorate the Christmas cookies. Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without noodles and gravy piled high on mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and broccoli and rice casserole. On the 4th of July, there is the 4th of July Potato Salad that I make using 10 pounds of potatoes. Mexican Food is part of our weekly menu--green chili served over mashed potatoes or as a slopper (green chili poured over hamburgers.) I am always making tortillas for someone. They call my tortillas little white pieces of gold. Saturdays are Family night for dinner. It is the one day my kids can request a meal.
My cooking triumphs
Seeking help on the Buzz and the AR Blog has resulted in a few triumphs. I am extremely ecstatic about overcoming the yeast monster. I can now bake baguettes, focaccia and the best rolls in the world, my Grandma Rita's Butter Rolls.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempts at baking bread/rolls resulted in rock hard flat rolls. However, I am improving. Baking at High Altitude is somewhat of a challenge.
