          After school, my Granddaughter was hungry and I surprised her with homemade graham crackers. She especially loved the graham cracker men. Smiles, conversation, and the homemade graham crackers made for some quality time spent with my Granddaughter. My Husband, Son, and Daughter also were sticking their hands in the cookie tin. The homemade graham crackers are crispy, crunchy and just right for dipping in a glass of milk. On Sunday, I will make some more graham crackers for my Granddaughter to take to school. I have a feeling all the graham crackers and milk will be gone before Monday.

This is definately a must for Damien and Molly!!! Molly turns one next month and loves graham crackers! Damien will eat anything that he gets to help make! Love the blog post !

I first saw your photo on the AR page and loved it. What a great idea to use cookie cutters. It's a nice idea for a little tin of less-sweet treats for a Christmss gift. Wouldn't they make a good base for winter S'mores? Pop them in the microwave and tell stories by the "campfire."

Hi still emeralds! I think using the cookie cutters is more appealing to kids than making the graham cracker squares. S'mores would be yummy. Great idea to put them in the oven.

Hello, Mother Ann, I found the graham cracker flour at the health food store. The brand is Bob's Red Mill Whole Wheat Graham Flour. It comes in 24 oz. bags. I used one bag and had about a cup left over.

I love homemade grahams! Back when my mom was alive she would save the Wes section from her daily paper for me since it always had food tips and recipes. One day they featured graham crackers. I loved that I knew what was going into my crackers and IMO they taste so much better. I'm sorry you are having difficulties with the blogging here. How frustrating.

Hi Doc! Don't those cheddar crackers look good? The graham crackers didn't last 2 days at my house. Let me know if you try those cheddar crackers. I would like to make them small like cheez its.

About Me
I enjoy cooking for our family sit down dinners. Although my kids are grown, we are a close family that enjoys 4-5 sit down dinners a week together. My family's favorite dinner is chicken enchiladas smothered in green chili. I have a passion for cooking, baking for the holidays and food photography.
My favorite things to cook
I am family oriented and spend time with my family enjoying meals. My favorite things to cook are Mexican food and any food my family asks me to cook. My family looks forward to home cooked Mexican food at least once a week and Italian food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am on a journey to reclaim family recipes that were lost when the cooks in my family passed away. Cooking traditions are a major part of my passion for cooking. On Christmas Eve, we always had green chili and tamales. Cookie baking, lemon bars, pizzelles , and potica have been a must at Christmas as long as I can remember. My family looks forward to homemade pizza, when we gather as a family to decorate the Christmas cookies. Thanksgiving wouldn't be Thanksgiving without noodles and gravy piled high on mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and broccoli and rice casserole. On the 4th of July, there is the 4th of July Potato Salad that I make using 10 pounds of potatoes. Mexican Food is part of our weekly menu--green chili served over mashed potatoes or as a slopper (green chili poured over hamburgers.) I am always making tortillas for someone. They call my tortillas little white pieces of gold. Saturdays are Family night for dinner. It is the one day my kids can request a meal.
My cooking triumphs
Seeking help on the Buzz and the AR Blog has resulted in a few triumphs. I am extremely ecstatic about overcoming the yeast monster. I can now bake baguettes, focaccia and the best rolls in the world, my Grandma Rita's Butter Rolls.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempts at baking bread/rolls resulted in rock hard flat rolls. However, I am improving. Baking at High Altitude is somewhat of a challenge.
