I have to say I was unsure about this recipe. Looking at the ingredient list, and the way it looked all mixed together, it looked awful, and didn't smell very good. I don't like pumpkin pie, was just making this for my fiancee. My only complaint is the cook time was off for me. It took me a good 15 more minutes to get from soupy to firm. I had to try it to make sure it was edible, so I did, expecting not much of anything, but even without whipped cream, it was awesome!!! This is my 100% fave punmpkin pie recipe. And it's super easy to make!

This recipe is great! I made it for Thanksgiving, but we taste tested tonight. I;m not much of an apple or chanberry person, certainly not those jelly looking cranberries in the can, but wow. This will be a yearly staple. I used real butter instead of shortening, and I added maybe double to get that crunchy topping right. This is very sweet, but it's mostly apples, so it felt healthy, not so heavy like chocolate or other things like that.
