Peanut Butter Balls V

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
These are Christmas Crack!! It's a miracle any last to dip in chocolate much less a few days til you give them away. I wanted to chill them overnight so that I could dip several things in chocolate at the same time. These insanely addictive things called out to me in the night and several times I was in the fridge popping a few in my mouth!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Coconut Bon Bons

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
This is one sticky mess. To help cut down on the stickiness, I chill the mixed coconut nuggat for at least 2 hours. Then, using a cookie scoop, scoop out the balls and place on waxed paper on cookie sheet. Then return to the fridge over night before dipping in chocolate. This makes it so much easier to handle the nuggat.

Buttermilk Chess Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
As with my other Chess pie recipe, I have to cook it for at least 30 more minutes to get the center to set. So, to keep my crust from burning, I make a tin foil tent to cover the whole pie. This seems to help with the setting of the center and my crisco crust always comes out right.

Aunt Bill's Brown Candy

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
As other people have stated, I always thought that "Aunt Bill" was a relative that my Grandmother got this recipe from!! My family has discovered the trick to beating the mixture for the 15 minutes to get the sheen out . . . use an Electric Power Drill!! Yes your husband's drill. Insert your wooden spoon into the end of the drill and have it do the work for you! Trust me, I've even heard this same trick from a friends grandmother and she does the same thing and has been for almost 2 decades. Favorite Candy of All Time!! P.S. It freezes REALLY well and lasts for months that way.
