Homesteader Cornbread

Simply a fantastic and easy cornbread to make and eat! I make this whenever I make chili...actually the "Chili IV" recipe (type that into search on this site) goes perfectly with this cornbread recipe. This is now my new standard cornbread recipe! Simple and delicious. Prep time is 15 minutes if you're moving really slow...the oven isn't preheated when I finish mixing the few ingredients for this yummy bread! It's about 5 minutes prep time...great for busy people.

Chili IV

Fantastic chili! It's fast and easy and ready once it's heated up. I made it twice last week with cornbread. I used a little more chili powder and cocoa than the recipe calls for the second time around. Letting it simmer for an hour improves the flavor even more, and I found that it actually tasted better the second day heated up in the microwave.
