Red, White and Blue Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
Great for July 4th! We had BBQ at Brother-in-law's house with about 30 people, and everybody could not wait to cut the cake to enjoy. I used German chocolate cake instead of yellow cake. I also poked cake and ran 14 oz can of fat free sweeten condensed milk right after come out of the oven. It is rich and milky chocolate cake with berries. Everyone loved it!

Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
I made the apple pie for the first time in my life, and it turned out to be so delicious! I would love to make it again with less cranberries. I had one problem, which the pie baked too much though I set the time less for the first and second temparature. My oven is quite strong, so I reduce some minutes when I bake anything. I would appreciate if anybody could give the advice for this.

Marinated Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
It was so tasty! I planned fried okra for side dish as my husband loves them, and I was looking for a new taste for pork chops goes with it. I usually make our pork chops with garlic powder, onion powder, S&P, paprika, and soy-sauce. I like our recipe, but wanted a little rich taste. This recipe makes flavorful pork chops, just as i was looking for! I did not make any change and was perfect for us. Some say that it was too salty. I did not feel that way, although we cook so less salt... I will make it again, and I will reduce oil as reviewed. We enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for sharing this recipe!!

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2013
Oh my! It was so so soooo wonderful!!! I read some previous reviews, so I added less sugar, and did mixed faster after adding each egg, and also mixed a couple of minutes after all eggs were added. The filling turned out to be silky smooth, and tasted rich chocolate!! I understand some reviewers experienced gritty texture in the filling. I also did when I was mixing butter and sugar, and I started doubting a little about the recipe. But keep mixing until butter and sugar get lighter and after adding eggs. Actually, when I started mixing with eggs, the grit texture was gone, and the filling becomes so smooth!!! To get a little more filling, you will need to mix (or beat) the filling after adding each egg quite well (faster!). If you have a stand mixer, it will help you! Please try again!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I made this dish for the first time. It was so creamy and tasty! I changed a couplt of things: I chopped onion and fried them with a part of the butter to get them transparent and add rest of butter to melt, and followed the directions. Also as previous reviews, I sprincle PANKO over the top of the dish to bake. Creamy and crispy! We loved it! I will make this again for Thanksgiving!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2010
Great recipe! I usually read all reviews before starting, but I did not have time, so I followed the original recipe with my little adjustments for health reasons: I used 2 bar of 'Smart Balance' instead of butter and less sugar. I did not have enough vanila, so I used 1/4 each of vanila and maple flavoring. It went so good, and we did not have any problem at all! It was delicious!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
This recipe is so wonderful!! I usually go through all the reviews, but this time, I followed exactly the recipe instructed. Unless you are looking for more 'cheesecake' taste, try the recipe exactly. To soften cream cheese, I microwaved it for 20 seconds or so as the package instructs. After adding sugar in the cream cheese, it gets softer and creamy much more and mixed with eggs very well. I would recommend to refrigerate it overnight. My family loved it, and it gone so quickly.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
This is great dish! Thank you, Jessica. I checked most of reviewers' comments, and it worked so good. I would like to share my tip: before putting chopped onion in the cooker, I fry them with butter (I use healthy bar) until gets brown. This would give great taste. Also, I made this both by slow cooker and ordinary deep pan. The results are good for both!

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Thank you, Paula, for the wonderful recipe. After learning some from the reviews and other recipes, I added some changes. My difficult husband and I loved it so much. I made it for 6 servings, and here is the changes: 1. Yes! I followed the ziploc bag advice (1/4 cup flour, 1tsp garlic and oniln powder) and the beef and shake it. 2. Used 4 carrots and stalks celery 3. Used beer for the half amount of the water 4. 2 cloves of garlic, minced 5. 1 tbs of paprika 6. 1 bay leaf 7. 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce With the above changes, I just followed as directed. It is the most wonderful beef stew I have ever had!

Mom's Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
I liked the ingredients and saw the cooking video, so I was good to go cooking! It turned out so good!! My husband does not care for chickens and said that he never liked the dish before. Well, the recipe is so great that he liked the dish. I tweaked by adding followings: 1)Added powder of paprika, onion and garlic in the flour to coat chicken. 2)Kept white wine instead of red. 3)Add both dried oregano and basil. 4)Used fresh tomatoes instead of can’s. 5)Add a few dash of cayenne pepper to kick. 6)Add 1/2 tsp of chicken bouillon to add the flavor. 7)Added shredded carrots. Depending on your taste preference: I did not like to have strong tomato taste, so I did not add any tomato sauce or pure, but the dish had wonderful mixture of all vegetables. Also, Usually chicken and white wine go very well, and I would still highly recommend white wine for the dish!!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
It was sooooo good!! Thank you for the recipe and all reviewers' comments. Mostly I followed recipe exactly except: I used only 1/4 tsp of salt and additional 1.5 TBS of Lime juice. For next time, I will slice checken instead of pounding to have thinner ones, and instead of mixing all spices in a bowl, sprinkle the amount of each spice to each chicken evenly. My hasband and I enjoyed this dish so much!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
This is wonderful recipe! My husband and step-son love it! Only one change I made is to add some dashes of onion powder. Next time, I want to try mixing very small size-chopped onion.
