About this Cook
im an antique doll dealer, collector and a registered nurse. i enjoy photography, antiques and walking.
My favorite things to cook
primarily, i prefer vegetarian dishes. i love to make my own yogurt too. in fact, i love it so much, that lately, ive been wishing that i had a goat! (goat milk yogurt?!!) unfortunately, the closest thing ive ever had to a goat, is a dog. :( lately, ive also been thinking of getting a soy milk maker. :) mostly, i love foods that are powerful and simple as they are naturally; hard boiled eggs, bananas, mangos, avocados, and watermelon... often, i cook only because i have to. i dont want to work too hard to have a great meal!
My favorite family cooking traditions
every thanksgiving, i make my parents traditional sour cream/cream cheese pie with graham crust. so good! strangely enough, i cant think of any other food traditions!
My cooking triumphs
triumphs? my hard boiled eggs are a family favorite. ??
My cooking tragedies
strangely enough, i cant think of any! :)

Carrot Rice
excellent! i increased the fresh ginger a bit, added diced chicken and lots of steamed asparagus tips. my son loved it too and described it as having both an asian and an indian flair! winner.

Chicken Tikka Masala
i left out all but one tsp salt in the entire recipe, used only half of the jalapeno pepper, and halved the pepper. i also saute the chicken in the marinade on the stove, rather than throwing the marinate out, and grilling. the chicken comes out so tender and the sauce is amazing when combined with the ingredients in the second half. ive made this recipe already two times in the last 10 days! its excellent!
