Baked Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: May 12, 2002
After reading all the reviews, I decided to change it before I even started. I cooked the rice first in water on the stove with the butter(not melted), added the rest of the ingredients (omitted the oregano-didn't seem like it fit the recipe), lowered the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees and baked it for about thirty minutes. It was very delicious!!! Will definately make again, but not how the recipe directs!

Easy Ham and Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2001
This was yummy!!! I doubled this recipe because I had lots of leftover ham. I added a little salt, pepper and parsley (for color). I also added a little buttered bread crumbs on top. I will definately be making this again!!! I would have added some peas, but my husband prefers them to be separate.

Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2001
These were fantastic!!! I didn't have any mushrooms or bacon, but they were awesome anyhow. Next time I will make sure I have them on hand. I also didn't have large baking potatoes. I only had four regular sized so I halved the recipe and just used those measurements instead. Delicious!!!

These were delicious!! My husband and I love chicken fried steak!! Better if you can make it at home instead of having to go out and get it.

Pot Roast in Foil

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2001
This was very good, but a little salty. I still liked it though. Will try it with lightly salted potatoes or maybe with some egg noodles.

Cowboy Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2001
I didn't have a potato masher so I used a hand mixer. I think it mashed it a little too much. So I wasn't much for the texture. I wasn't sure about the "boiled garlic". I might give it a second try and use a potato masher instead of a hand mixer to make a little lumpier.

Banana Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
I loved these. I wasn't able to use all my bananas though. There wasn't enough sauce to spoon over them. I will double the sauce next time. The crepes were good enough to eat by themselves. Will definately keep this recipe!!

Firecracker Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
My family loved these. So simple to put together. Very, very yummy. My husband isn't much for extra things in his burgers, but he loved these. Instead of using regular monterey jack cheese, I used pepperjack. Very good. Everyone who tries this recipe and likes a little spice should try using pepperjack cheese.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
I guess I didn't know what I was going to expect. I wasn't much for this. It could be the sun-dried tomatos. I have had sun-dried tomato sauces (minus the actual tomatos in the sauce) before and I liked it. My husband liked it and so did my 19-month-old son, but I didn't. Go figure! My husband hates tomatos, I love them and yet we feel differently about this dish.

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
These were fantastic!! Besides them being a little too salty on my part, they were good. My husband had just gotten home from work and was trying to tell me something while I was trying to keep count of how much salt I had put in and I guess I miscounted. Oh well. I just love Italian food and will definately make these again.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
These cookies were different for a change. I love anything banana!!! I did use mini chips instead of regular and brown sugar for the white. I think they turned out real good. I took them to work with me and I didn't stop hearing rave reviews from everyone. My boss kind of turned up his nose when I told them what they were. I just don't think he was much for the combination of banana and chocolate together. Oh well. I loved them.

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
I made this tonight for dinner and it was delicious. I did, however, substitute pepperjack cheese for the monterey jack. I had some on hand that I needed to use and I liked the extra spice. Might add a little more next time. Will definately make again!!! (in the near future) I will say, though, that it is not a low fat food. :) I guess it's okay to splurge now and then.

Banana Blast II

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2001
I added 1/4 tsp. vanilla and realized after blending the banana and milk that my husband forgot to refill the ice trays so, needless to say, we were out of ice. It had a wonderful flavor, but was more like lumpy banana milk than a smoothie. Was delicious though. Will definately try it again, but with ice!! :)

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2001
I made a few changes to this recipe. Because my husband and I don't like French dressing, I substituted a 16 oz. jar of cilantro picante sauce, added a little less water and corn chips instead of tortilla chips. I also simmered it a little longer while I cut up the tomatoes and lettuce because the picante sauce is a little watery compared to the dressing. But in the end, it was sooo delicious!!
