Chunky Potato Soup

Wonderful soup! My whole family loved this recipe. I had everything on hand except for the swiss cheese so I just used cheddar and it was a huge hit with everyone.

Mom's Red Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
My family loves these scalloped potatoes! I like to add chopped green onions to the top of the potatoes the last minute or so of cooking. I think these potatoes would be awesome with chopped cooked bacon or ham mixed in. This is a keep recipe!

Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Such a treat! I've made this recipe twice this week. My family actually prefers the pumpkin pie pudding cold. The first time I made the pudding, I cooked it on high and the pudding came out a little grainy but I didn't get any complaints, just rave reviews. The second time I cooked the pudding on low and the pudding came out so nice a creamy. Yum!

Jalapeno Appetizer Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
I made these Jalapeno Appetizer Pancakes on Thanksgiving, and served them with my 10 or so regular appetizers I make every year. These Jalapeno Appetizer Pancakes were just okay. My 10 years old son was the only person who ate the pancakes, he liked them with salsa. My three daughters, husband and mother didn't care for the pancakes at all. I probably wouldn't make them again.

The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
I followed the directions and didn't substitute anything, I made the recipe just as stated and I didn't like it at all. My husband however loved it. I would probably try and make the soup again but would probably leave out the Worcestershire sauce and the Dijon, to me those flavors just didn't belong with ham or beans.

Black Beans and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
OMG these Black Beans and Pork Chops are so good! I seasoned the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne powder before browning. I also put 2 cans of black beans and 1 can of drained corn. I didn't have any cilantro and don't think it was missed. Pork chops were falling apart and the sauce the dish makes is killer! Serve this over white rice. YUM! Thanks lovebeingamom!

Indonesian Fried Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
I used this recipe as a base and added my own stuff to it. I didn't use kecap manis because I don't even know what it is. I skipped the tomato sauce because it just sounded strange and I didn't have any cucumbers on hand so I didn't use those either. I ended up using a jalapeno and a lot of soy sauce. I had some left over baked chicken and cooked bacon so I threw that in too. I also added some green onion and tabasco towards the end. It turned out great! Thanks for the recipe. I wouldn't have thought to add the carrot and celery and they were actually quite nice in the dish.
