Robbi's M&M Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
I've made these for a school bake sale and for my own family and they have always been a hit. I made them with half butter and half shortening and that gives them a nice buttery flavor.

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I tried this recipe for Christmas this year and it was absolutely wonderful. The meat was moist and tender and the skin was crispy. What more could you ask for?m Thanks for the fab recipe!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
This recipe is fantastic. Not only is it easy to make, but it tastes absolutely wonderful. Instead of adding milk, I used cream but other than that, I followed the recipe to the letter.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
This recipe is wonderful. I live in the UK and am unable to get American style Italians sausage, so I made it from scratch, but that was the only drawback to this recipe. The whole family enjoyed it and I will definitely be making it again.

Awesome Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
I made these egg rolls with my daughter and we both thought they were fantastic. We live in England and decided to use what we call pak choi instead of ordinary cabbage, but that was the only thing we changed. If we were to change anything about the recipe, we would probably not put as much filling in each roll, but that's it. I will be be making these again.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
My son who is 13 made these and they were fantastic. Like others, I don't know why anyone would have difficulty making them. He soaked the raisins, but that's the only change he made. The cookies were soft, chewy, and delicious. We will be making these again.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
I have no complaint about the texture of this cake, it was very moist and chocolatey. Unfortunately, it was just way too sweet for us. I had a slice and couldn't finish it. I will just have to keep looking for the perfect chocolate cake recipe.

Clara's White German Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
I made this cake for my daughter's 20th birthday and we all loved it. I don't think there is anything I would change about the recipe. I would agree with another reviewer, that the directions don't tell you how to melt the white chocolate, but other than that it was perfect. I just melted the white chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. It was delicious. Thanks Sallie

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
I think this is an excellent basic chicken pot pie recipe. I did however, find it a tad bland. I made a shortcrust pastry and followed the instructions pretty much to the letter. When I tasted the chicken and sauce, I felt it needed a boost so I added some tarragon and white wine. The entire family enjoyed it and I will deffinitely be making it again in the future.

Bananas Foster II

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
My entire family enjoyed this dessert. I ended up substituting roasted almonds for the walnuts, since none of us are keen on walnuts. I would say that a good quality ice cream really helps.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
These were the first sugar cookies I have ever made that tasted really good. The only thing I did differently was to roll the cookies in cinnamon and sugar before baking. I will definitely be using this recipe again.

Pork Chops Over Rice

Reviewed: May 17, 2013
I think this is a easy and delicious recipe. I doubled the recipe but only put in 1 teaspoon of cayenne and it was still too spicy and we like things hot. I found the chicken stock did cook down too quickly, and resorted to adding more stock and covering the pan. This may have just been because I had the burner too high, so I can't really blame the recipe. I will definitely do this recipe again.

Taylor's Piroshki

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2013
The dough is wonderful, light and fluffy. I must admit I find Russian fare a little short on the seasoning, and was concerned that the filling would be too bland. For that reason, I added Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, beef stock and chilli flakes. Even with these changes, I think this recipe is great and will definitely be making them again.

Chef John's Caramel Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
This recipe is wonderful. I didn't have any rice vinegar, so used white wine vinegar instead, but other than that, followed the recipe faithfully. The chicken was sweet, but you could taste all the individual ingredients and the peanuts added another texture to the dish. I shall be making this again. Thanks

Fast Apple Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2013
This pie was very good indeed. The only changes I made were to add a little flour to fruit mixture. I think 440°F is a odd temperature and slightly too high. My pie was very dark after just 30 minutes, so either reduce the temperature slightly or keep a close eye on it and cover with foil when golden.

I liked this recipe because it is quick and easy, but to be honest, for me, who has a real sweet tooth, this was just too darn sweet.

Cheesy Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2013
Let's be honest, this recipe is never going to look beautiful, but it tastes really good. I think it's comfort food at its best. I think everyone will adapt it to suit their own tastes. We love bacon and eggs, so I added more. I will be making this again.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2013
I liked this recipe. It's easy to make and tastes delicious. I did add more raisins and a little more sugar than the recipe stated. I also baked it for 35 minutes instead of 45, and covered it with foil after the first 15 minutes. I will definitely make it again.

Plum Cakey Tart

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I only had six small plum and was finding it very difficult to find a recipe to suit, when I came across this one. It tasted fabulous and was very easy to make. I know some people have made this recipe with just plain flour, but I would urge you to use the whole wheat flour. It gives the cake an almost nutty flavor and a bit more texture. The only thing I changed, was to add more sugar to my plums as they weren't particularly sweet. My whole family loved it. Thank you
