Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2003
YUMMY! Oh this was very good! I added some left over gravy I had, and I think it made it a bit drier than intended. And I think maybe I'll double the recipe next time because it was so good! I used button mushrooms! Because it was a tad bit too dry, I just added some water and it came to life like a trooper! Thanks so much, a new family favourite!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2003
My first time making AND eating this dessert. It was quite nice, although very bready (duh)and it was much better with ice cream! I'd try it again if I have vanilla ice cream nearby! Very easy to make!

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2003
My first time making cheesecake, and it was a breeze! I only used two apples, and precooked them in microwave for about 2-3 minutes with the sugar and cinnamon. I used 3 pkgs of cream cheese, but didn't add any extra eggs. The crust is delicious, and the cheesecake portion is light and airy. The apples give it an extra kick! I arranged them only on the outside rim of the pie, allowing a cool look. AWESOME!

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
Oh YUMMY YUMMY, these were tasty. The only thing I did different *I think* was use precooked shrimp, so it only took 2 minutes on BBQ, and added some kosher sea salt at the end. Oh my this was really a treat. Definately make again! Thanks!

Best Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
Pretty darn good! The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because I didn't follow the recipe. I used breaded chicken, but added some BBQ sauce to the dressing, and it gave it an awesome taste. So I can imagine this WOULD get 5 stars if I did it right! Thanks, yummy, will definately make again.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
Considering I didn't have any green chiles, I used chilpotes? spelling?.. it was delicious! The tortillas really did end up getting a "lasagna" feel to them. It was very delicious.. would DEFINATELY make it again!

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
I think I didn't mix my pudding mix long enough. It was separating when I mixed in the whipped cream. Then I couldn't figure out how anybody could possible spread the icing on top of the graham crackers.. it looked bad, didn't taste too bad, but certainly not my "cup of tea"

Provincial Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
This was good flavour, BUT I don't think I liked my tomatoes cooked. But the combination of seasonings, and cheese made a delightful play of my taste buds!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
I think my shrimp wasn't the best quality. This recipe was fine, not enough "humph" that I wanted. I followed the recipe closely, and marinated it for 2 hours. BUT, just not what I was looking for. Will try the other recipes on this website.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2003
A very bright coloured salad, that's very good for you, and a good way for me to get "my beans". But it's lacking a bit of something. Not quite sure what. It's very nice, just not quite what I anticipated. Would probably make it again, specifically for our vegetarian relatives, they may enjoy it! Very easy to prepare though!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2003
Very interesting flavour. Easy to prepare. I had to use different ingrediants. I used ground turkey for the meatballs (very nice flavour) and only had cracked wheat bread for base but the spread and the meat went very well together. My husband said he thought it could use some pasta, but he IS a bit crazy.. so we'll just never mind him! I would make it again, but try it closer to what the recipe called for!

Strawnana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2003
It's taken a long time to find a really good muffin mix. This one made 26 medium muffins with good size caps. I just chopped the bananas and strawberries to give some great texture. I left out nutmeg, orange zest and nuts as a personal preference, and added a splash of vanilla extract. It took about 32 minutes at 350! YUM YUM YUM

To be honest, I never had the chance to try this after I made it for a BBQ party for 20 people. But the guests raved about it, especially the teenagers! I'll try it again, just to get a taste! Thanks

Red Skinned Potato Salad

I only used 4 eggs and half a pound of bacon, but this was a winner at a recent BBQ for 20 people! I'd DEFINATELY make this one again. Oh, and I used green onion instead of onion.. the guests were not onion friendly! YUMMY

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 12, 2003
Delicious, who would have thought it could be so simple?! I did take it out to the BBQ for a quick "grilling" which added a wonderful look to the ribs! They fell off the bone, and the aroma was quite inticing! Thanks!
