Pasta Shells with Portobello Mushrooms and Asparagus in Boursin Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
Pretty bland. Yes an easy recipe, but defintly not gourmet or resturant quiality. I added chopped asparagus with the mushrooms and two cloves of chopped garlic. After cooking i defintly needed to add a few scoops of cornstarch to thicken. Even after adding the garlic and some parmesean cheese i still found this quite bland.... it would be good if you enjoy generic alfredo type pastas. I'll save my boursin for something better!

Boiled Bagels

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I made the bagles following the recipe exactly and used the method of broiling them a bit first. They didn't really rise enough and stayed very small and dense, could've been my fault but i sually don't have problems with bread making. I will try again because the flavour was great.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
So good and so easy! WE used three chicken breasts and about half a bottle of Franks. Cooked for 7 hours without opening the lid, the last half hour i shredded the chicken (so moist) and added a bit more franks and the butter and continued heating for a hald hour. Server on rolls with lettuce, avocado slices and ranch. MMMM, definelty the easiest slow cooker recipes ever.

Canada Day Nanaimo Bar Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2010
Good recipe. I made it as a traditional cheescake in a springform pan and kept all the amounts the same. The flavour wasn't a true nanaimo taste, the crust wasn't the same as the bottom of a square and the yellow layer didn't remind my of namaimo, even with the use of custard powder. Yummy but not as good as ttrue nanaimo

Ground Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
I used chicken seared in olive oil with taco seasoning instead of ground beef. I could only find flour tortillas. I divided a can of refried beans amongst the enchilladas as well. So yummy, quick and easy compared to most enchillada recipes, and i loved the creamy white sauce on top, sprinkled with cilantro to complete!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Easy yes, but the taste and texture was not very good. I would rather spend the time to make it right, or use a refridgerated dough if in a rush.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Amazing, great flavour and so easy! I cut mine out using the rim of a glass but next time will buy a buscuit cutter as i think they would have risen higher if i hadn't used such a blunt edge.

Spicy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
Not all that good. I belded mine with a hand mixer and it reminded me too much of baby food afterwards. My boyfriend didn't like it at all and we are both big fans of red curry and yams seperately. He said "you shouldn't have added carrots", which i didn't.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
Pretty darn good and easy to pull together. I made sure to baste the chicken almost constantly for the last few minutes to make sure it was as saucy as possible. You have to flip it often to ensure it doesn't burn becuase of the honey!

By far my fav go to meal for a week night. I dredge the chicken in floor before frying and add brocolli to the mix, serve on jasmine rice.. out of this world, similar to earls' Chili Chikcen.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
Verrry yummy and so easy to make because you just mix all the ingredients in the 9x13. More flavour then the usual mac and cheese because you use sour cream and cottage cheese versus milk.

Marshmallow Fondant

My first try with fondant... a little tricky but probably easier then other recipes. Definetly put it in the microwave for 5 seconds before rolling or it's almost impossible. I flavoured mine with cocnut extract.

Thai Green Curry Chicken

So yummy, better then on Koh San Road! I add zuchini, brocolli and mushrooms. I also add a stalk of lemon grass while it's cooking, and a squeeze of lime, and sprinkle of fresh cilantro before serving.
