German Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
Unreal! I made sure to drain the saurkraut really well and fried it in some butter and onions first. I used farmer's sausage instead of kielbasa because of DH's preference - didn't fry it first, but made sure to slice it really thin. It was sooo good and was a hit at a dinner of about 12 people - went way faster then the standard meat lasagna.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
So good and easy. I used evaporated milk because i happened to have an opened can - i would increase the sauce a little bit next time. I added garlic salt, celery salt and onion salt instead of normal salt.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
I lost my old recipe for lemon bars but tried this one. They were good... but the crust to filling ratio was a little off... too much crust. My old recipe called for adding lemon zest as well... which i did.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
So amazing! I definetly would not waste time searing the beef. I used to be fully beleive in searing the outside first, but after making it without, i realized the falvour is just as good and the beef is alot more tender, plus it takes way less time and less dishes! I added a pack of Club House stew seasoning and a little more salt when it was done. Wonderful.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Very yummy. I put mine in one round mould... had to cook it for much longer. Served cut into pieces, warmed in the oven with homemade caramel and ice cream. Thought the Gingerbread flavour could have been a bit stronger.. but still unreal!

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Loved this... so sweet and oniony at the same time. I put it on a "cheese" salad... which is just lettuce, cheddar, mozza, parm, feta, tomatoes and cucumber... so wonderful.

Slow-Cooked Steak Fajitas

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
MMMM so good. I only had about five hours so i only cooked the first stage for 4 hours and it turned out fine. I added a bit of liquid smoke and worchestershire in the begninning as well. It never really thickened up but was still sooo good. Nice way to make flank steak more tender.

Black Bean Spinach Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
Very good and easy to make healthy for a low-fat/cal diet. I made mine on a whole wheat tortilla and it turned out awesome. I put some lime juice in the black beans and mashed them with a fork, added some Franks Red Hot Sauce. I used fresh spinach breifly sauteed with the onion, garlic and a tablespoon of olive oil. A light sprinkling of reduced fat cheddar and a dollop of low fat sour cream... all for only 300 calories. So good.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Hi there, i followed some of the other reviewers and used 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup white. I found the cake to be a little on the dry side, and i only cooked it for 40 mins. The icing was amazing though!

Sara's Soy Marinated and Cream Cheese-Stuffed Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Wow, my boyfriend and i are generally fish haters but i wanted to try a salmon recipe that completely masks and fishy flavour. This is it! I actually enjoyed a piece of salmon for the first time in my life! I didn't have green onion so i just added a clove of garlic to the cream cheese mizture, so flavourful... i'd probably marinate the salmon for longer next time.

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
Better then any chicken fingers/wings i've had in a resturant, and the boyfriend agrees! I don't have a deep fryer so pre heated vegetable oil in a large pot on medium low. Fried the strips for about 3 mins on each side, then placed them on a rack to crisp up before tossing in the sauce. Wow.

Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Mmm so yummy and quite easy. Very rich in the cheese department though. You could probably make this with only one jar of pasta sauce and still have enough, our's was almost too saucy.

Dirty Diapers

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
Um wow.... my boyfriend and his three friends devoured these while wathcing football! So yummy, better than a cheeseburger! I added half a packet of onion soup mix to the beef and about half a cup of bbq sauce before taking it off the heat. I found it hard to roll the trianges if i made them to small so kept them pretty big. I used cheese slices and they turned out perfect.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
Very yummy. I added sliced baby carrots at the beginning, and peas near the end. As mine was very thin before adding the biscuitas i added 2 tablespoons cornstarch, but would cut back on that next time. I cooked mine on low for 8 hours total, adding the buscuits 6 hour in. I would probably only add one tin of buscuits next time. We used 3 chicken breasts cut in half. Very filling and warming!
