Spaghetti Carbonara II

The only adaption that I made to the recipe was using whole wheat pasta. Dry, and way to grainy with the whole wheat pasta.

Sugar Spiced Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
I skipped the oil and tossed the nuts in 1 egg white. 4-6 cups of almonds will work with 1 egg white. Drain the nuts if its too liquidy if only using 2 cups of nuts. I used this spice recipe for 2 cups, and then variations of spices for 2 other batches (cinnamon, allspice, cocoa). It needed to be cooked longer than suggested. I doubled the cooking time, but I should have cranked the heat up to 400 and kept an eye on them for a speedier solution.

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
A party favorite! A little time consuming, but unique and yummy. I used 1/3 slice of bacon to wrap each date, and didn't find the need for a toothpick. I tried broiling them, but the bacon curled up - baking them was perfect.

Loved this dessert! Not as rich and filling as cheesecake, but not quite a pie either. A family favorite.
