Lemon Blueberry Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
This is the best! I just love the light zest of the lemon with the blueberry. I did add a touch of vanilla to the recipe and omitted the walnuts but other than that I followed it to a T. I tried the icing once and found it too sweet taking away from the bread so I don't use it anymore.

Super-Simple, Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef

VERY good! My family loves flavor and this delivered! They don't like rice so I am always trying to find something to pair this with. Too bad, they'll have to suffer and go without! It's all for me!

Old-Fashioned Chicken and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
It's a pretty good baseline recipe for chicken and NOODLES (these aren't dumplings). I do suggest and stress the fact that you should roll the dough out and let it dry on a flour covered counter. Then cut them into strips and let them dry more. I normally dry them on the counter over night. The flour on the noodles will also act as a thickener so don't worry .

California-Style Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I did like the recipe. A little bland but it's a great base! Add a little of this and that and WOW! I did a little cumin, garlic, and Chipotle pepper powder. I also added 2 cans of stewed tomatoes but one of the cans I spun in the blender a quick turn. I wanted some more tomato juice. I have to admit when it comes to cooking times on anyone's recipe I tend to not pay attention. I use it as a guideline and just cook to suit me. So those that say it's overdone..they should have cooked to their own taste.

Eclairs II

I made these yummy in the tummy's along with some French Vanilla cream puffs. What a great pairing! This recipe I have no complaints with. For those that say your pastry keeps falling, sometimes it means you have to stir the pastry faster. You cannot be slow about it.

Awesome Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I've got no complaints! It's the same pasta salad style I've been making for years and so have my Italian Aunts and cousins from Boston. Seeing this made me want to make it again. The only thing different is that I had to use slices of Provolone and salami, no pimento, and I used Wishbones new MEDITERRANEAN ITALIAN. I also added a pinch of sugar. It's just enough but not too much. Sometimes I do a mix of yellow and green peppers but this time it was just green. This time I also had to use the very small garden tomatoes, deseeding some of them though, and cutting into small chunks. Might toss in some fresh basil next time. THANKS FOR SHARING this simple yet SO YUMMY and fast meal made for lunch on the go!

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
My two sons (19 and 21) are very picky about their chicken dishes. A 'nugget' has to be perfect and the breading has to be top notch>>>One bite of this and they were sold. This is their new fave and frequently requested. I have to admit....I just fell in love with this!>>>Although I am not fond of the Sweet and Sour sauce and will tweak it...I can't snub my nose at it! I'm just particular with my sauce.>>>FANTASTIC!

VERY good! Needs maybe a touch more salt? Other than that it was a great recipe. I'll make again and I'm writing it in my recipe book. Reminds me of the recipe I used as a kid :)

Barbequed Ribs

My first time making baby backs and I have to say this was just SUPERB! I measure by eyeball and I think I overdid the cumin...next time I'll be careful. The sauce..KICKED BUTT! The meat just fell off the bone and was still very very moist! If I had another hand I'd give you THREE THUMBS UP!

Banana Banana Bread

I love how people rate this recipe AFTER they changed and not tried the original, as written. They are rating their own recipe then not this one! I tried it as written and really loved it! I got a nice crunch on the outside and moist inside! VERY good. Next time I'm adding nuts.

Gelatin Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
I have to give full stars since I changed up the ingredients. Sorry. I was looking for last minute things to do for T-day and this was close to what I had....I did sugar free applesauce and 2 TBS sugar, 1pk reg. strawberry jello and 1 pkg sugar free mixed fruit, 12 oz ginger ale, 11 oz mandarin oranges (mashed). I messed up and was thinking it was two cans needed so I added just a tad more applesauce to make up the diff. UGGG It didn't set up firm firm but it's still YUMMY! Refreshing, it 'bursts' in your mouth! I WILL make again and this time follow the directions correctly THANK YOU for a refreshing palate cleanser with minimal ingredients!

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
This is the same recipe I have been using for awhile(slight variations) and I have to say it's stupendous! I add 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce and minus the veg oil to 1/2 cup. I also add 2/3 cup coconut and 1/4 tsp ground cardamon. It's a nice chunky style carrot cake. Moist. This is NOT a light airy cake. This is a typical decadent carrot cake.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
This one is classic AMERICAN style goulash. The picture depicts it. This is a dish that was mainstay for most of us and even served at school. @Pathunt: Nicely done! I made it just as the recipe states and enjoyed it but next time around I will add a diced green pepper to the meat as it's browning and probably a shake of garlic powder to remind me of school, and LOTS of fresh ground pepper.
