truly a wonderful pancake recipe. My husband has been the pancake king in our house for a few years with his storebought mix, but this blows them out of the water. Definetely let the milk sour for 10-15 minutes. I used powdered sugar in place of granulated for a lighter pancake. Left out butter-couldn't tell. Added vanilla (1 teaspoon for recipe as written). Then I let the whole batter sit for over 30 minutes. Make sure griddle is hot (a bead of water should jump when dropped on it), then turned heat back to about med/med-high. Used 1/4 cup measuring cup and got 18 good size pancakes out of a double recipe. I was blown away by how tasty my pancakes were. I doubled the recipe and it was perfect for my 3 little kids and I. As they get bigger, or when daddy is home with us, I'm sure I'll have to triple it.

Playgroup Granola Bars

I made a "mistake" and added maple flavor instead of vanilla (and then added vanilla in too) and they're WONDERFUL! I can't wait to play around with this recipe even more!!

Cinnamon Honey Butter

FANTASTIC!! My mom got us cinncamon honey butter when we went camping in Canada, and I've wanted it again ever since. I'm so happy I found this very simple recipe. I can't wait to make it and package it up as Christmas gifts with homemade bread!

Traditional Whole Wheat Bread

Honey Wheat Bread

This is a great bread. It's not quite the honey wheatI was expecting and I even bumped the honey up to 1/3 a cup. However, I kneaded it by hand after throwing the ingredients in my mixer, and it came out beautifully! A friend who's not usually fond of homemade bread was impressed with it! and this is only my second batch of homemade bread ever! A keeper for sure.

Instant Oatmeal Mix

My husband goes through 4 packets of the storebought instant at a time. And my 3 yr old is quickly gaining on him. This is a wonderful recipe. Tastes like a cross between cinnamon spice and maple brown sugar.

Baked Applesauce

My 3 yr old and 2 yr old were licking their bowls clean. I'm going to make up a huge batch this week. I may never buy storebought again. The apples mashed perfectly after baking I just used a fork.

Amish White Bread

I made this today, with the "help" of my 2 yr old daughter. We used my KitchenAid mixer with the dough hook. It was so simple and the bread came out beautifully! I'm so excited-this was my first yeast bread and it's great. My husband loves it-he says it's similar to Challah bread. It is rich, so I may cut back on the sugar with my next batch. Awesome-thanks for sharing this Peg!!

Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding

It's sweet but not overly so and has a nice flavor. However, was hoping for the rice to soften up more-which it didn't. I think I'll try on of the baked versions. This was simple to make, however, and a great way to use up leftover rice as a dessert!
