Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
This was pretty good;everyone including my kids raved about it and went back for seconds. I diced the chicken up, and then let it marinate for about 2 hours. I added in a bit more brown sugar and sub'd vanilla extract for the bourbon. It didn't taste like the kind u get at the mall, but it was delicious. Will definitely make again and again.

Cajun Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
This was delicious!!!! Definitely the best meatloaf I've ever tasted. My husband and kids really liked it too. I didn't have evaporated milk so I used regular whole milk and I was worried it'd be too spicy for my kids so I didn't add in the hot pepper sauce. Still delicious. Will be my new recipe now; I already had a good one but this brings so much more flavor!

Monkey Bread V

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT! I just took it out the oven and let it cool off so me and my kids are sitting here devouring it! I followed the recipe exactly but took it out the oven after about 20 mins or so though. I did end up adding more butter on it also.

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Personally I wasn't too crazy about these based on the recipe for the sauce. I thought the soy sauce overpowered a lot of the other ingredients but after a lot of modifications it got better and once I actually baked them, they were tasty. My husband loved them. I added in 2 heaping tablespoons of brown sugar, added water and some more honey. Then I covered them and let them bake flipping once. I will make again with less soy sauce and definitely adding the sugar in.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I was very disappointed with this marinade. Once I made it following directions to a tee, I tasted it and the soy sauce was way too overpowering so I threw it out because no modifications were helping it. I didn't even bother ruining my meat with it.

Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
This was excellent! I did exactly as the recipe called for in addition to adding more sauce on top and then sprinkle with cheese. They weren't too spicy and could've stood for some spicing up but being that I have 2 little kids, it was perfect. Everyone cleaned their plates!

Beef Parmesan with Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
This was ok to me; a lot of work for a combo of spaghetti and a parmesean dish. When cooking, I didn't think I'd bother making it again but my kids really liked it, they asked for seconds which is why I'll give it 4 stars vs 3. Also, I had to add twice the amount of garlic onto the pasta to give it any flavor. All in all it was just average.

Paella

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Give this 5 stars for taste, everyone in my house liked it. BUT the proportion of the meat was too high for the amount of rice called for, and next time I will add more of the tomato juices and chicken broth so the rice will have some more liquid to cook in. Also, I used saffron flavored yellow rice. I will definitely cook again, the flavors blended really well.

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was a good and easy recipe. It was a little tangy for my liking but my husband and 2 kids loved it! I did everything the recipe called for except add the oil and garlic. I let it cook for 6 hours before shredding. Everybody went back for seconds!

Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Just tried this and as my first attempt at beef stew, it was delicious! But I did make the following changes: used 3 cups of water and 2 cans of beef broth, I seasoned the meat with seasoning salt, Accent, and black pepper before browning it, threw in a packet of McCormick beef stew seasoning. After letting it simmer for an hour, I added in about 1/2 of a chopped onion, and if you want a nice thick, hearty broth add in about 4 tbspn of thickening (flour + cold water) after adding in the potatoes and other veggies. You won't need any more flavoring than this! And the meat will be nice and tender. The other thing I did is cooked the rice on the side and served the stew on top of the rice. My hubby and kids went for 2nds and so did I!
