Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
good bread, dense but not crazy heavy, sweet but not overly, generally good. but nothing exceptional or unique about it. want a good basic banana bread? this is a great recipe for you (and that is not a bad thing.)

sturdy icing that looked great on cookies, but really just confirmed why I do not ice cookies, looks great but tastes like elf.

Molasses Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
My husband loved these cookies, but said his grandma still haves them better! ( I really do not know how you could beat a tiny 96 year old woman though...)

Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
This pie was very good, too sweet for my liking but as a tart it might get 5 stars (up the crust filling ratio) but for sweet lovers this is a must try.

Death by Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
incredibly delicious. I made this for Canadian thanksgiving and it was a huge hit. a couple of weeks later I made six more for an event (let me note it was for 50 teenagers) they ALL adored it, so if it is good for 50 teenagers i think it is good for anyone. I am going to experiment with layering raspberries into it, chocolate and raspberries has got to be the best combo ever!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
too onioney? pffft. this was easily the best guac i have ever made, and I love avocados in any form! also I need to say that I hate onions but will always try a recipe one just the way it is written, glad I did this time. the onion was quite strong before I refrigerated it but after it completely mellowed out! I find that as long as you follow a recipe to a T the first time it usually works out! thats for this great recipe! better than in Mexico!

Dutch Honey Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
I would not change a thing, this was the best thing that has ever graced my french toast, it is no sweeter than normal pancake syrup or maple syrup, it may seem like an extra step in making your pancake breakfast but it really only adds 2 or 3 more minutes to your pancake or french toast routine. everyone in my picky household loved this at brinner time tonight!

Potato Bacon Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
This chowder was quite good, I cook for three people who all have extremely different ideas of what is good is; one hates vegetables, one thinks that chinese food os a food group and the last only likes plain potatoes and broiled chicken. all three loved this soup. I gave it four stars because I found it to be a little too salty. I added a touch of sugar to counter act the salt but next time I will grab low sodium cream of chicken soup instead. Previously I tried this with melted velveta cheese to make it a cheddar potato bacon soup (as per another review) and that was quite good as well.

McCormick® Gingerbread Men Cookies

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
This recipe is great. instead of piping on decorations in icing I dipped the feet and the head in dark chocolate and let them dry on wax paper, once they were dry I piped white chocolate along the top of the dark chocolate to create little fur topped boots, I also piped a white chocolate pom pom for on top of the touque.
