Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
I love these. I didn't have wheat flour so I used all white. I couldn't find wheat germ, but had wheat bran. To compensate for the lack of wheat in my flour, I doubled the amount of wheat bran the recipe called for. I used 2 full eggs and 1 egg white. Added in 2 smashed bananas also. I also added in 1/2 cup oatmeal. Otherwise everthing else was as written. These taste like carrot cake.

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Breaded with cayenne, salt, pepper, and flour and baked in oven at 425 for 45 minutes. Then tossed wings in sauce and baked for another 5 minutes. They really werent that spicy as written, but definatly easy to make them spicer if you would like.

Honey Lime Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Very different, but in a good way. I didn't use the lime zest and I thought it was just fine without it. I did bake in oven 425 for 45 minutes. Then rolled in sauce and baked for another 5 minutes.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
I love sweet coleslaw and this turned out great. Tastes pretty close to KFC coleslaw (and thats what I compare any coleslaw to). It does look dry at the beginning, but as it sits in fridge it gets better.

A Nice Slow-Cooked Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Good, I didn't taste much of a difference of doing it this way verses just putting a plain roast in the crock pot with the vegetables. A pork roast puts out enough liquid on its own. There was obviously more liquid, but not enough of a difference in taste of the meat. Ill probably do without the broth next time, maybe just do the sherry, see if that helps.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
I thought it was OK, easy enough to make. Cooked the chicken in crockpot during day instead of boiling the chicken. Kids didn't care for it, but husband and I liked it.

Honey Baked Lentils

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
These were distasterous for me. I didnt see anything anywhere about soaking them ahead of time, so I didn't. I followed the directions, even ended up boiling them for a little longer just because they still seemed really firm. I baked them for an hour and they were still firm. Another 1/2 hour and still firm Had to add more liquid and baked for another hour if not more. Guess what, they were still firm and the liquid was all gone so they were kind of dry too. By this time (we had eaten almost 2 hours before) so I finally gave up because they still weren't ready to eat.

Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
I dont have a bundt or tube pan. I just used a shallow circular pan and cut up one tube of biscuits (with a pizza cutter - nice suggestion) and followed the rest of instructions and threw them in the pan. I did keep the rest of the ingreadients the same. I did heat some brown sugar and butter for extra sauce and pured that in the pan on top of the biscuits as well before baking. This was a nice serving portion (for 5 of us). I can't imagine how much bread you would have using 3 cans of biscuits!

Orange Pecan French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
I think it had good flavor, but Im not quite sure the egg and liquid ratio was right on. I followed directions exactly and after I baked it the next day, it still seemed soggy or moist in the middle of the bread (and I even left it in longer to bake after trying a piece). Maybe it needed more egg and less other liquid?

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
I think it wa OK, a little sour for my tastes. I had to add some more mild and some romano/parmesan cheese to tone it down. It was nice to try, but not sure it will be going into my recipe rotation.

Easy, Cheesy Tortellini Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
Really good. I did use more tortellini as suggested (1 full 19 oz bag and 1/2 of another). I couldn't tell from the posted recipe whether to use the dried italian seasoning (dressing packet) or the italian seasoning (spice), so I used the salad dressing. I only used about 3/4 the package of spinach. Really good.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
Dont use a whole bottle of dressing, just enough to cover top of crust. Cook 2 chicken breasts in croc pot for about 4 hours and shred before adding butter and buffalo sauce. This is so good and easy. I have made it several times.

Original Homemade Italian Beef

I love these. Used 1 can beef broth instead of the water and added a little garlic. I added the peppers in at the beginning with some of the juice and all turned out well.
