Slow Cooker Cheese Steaks

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
only difference I made in actual preparation was I used a can of beef consumme instead of the beef stock. I made up the sandwiches as written, but then added some chipolte mayo I had made (which made them wonderful)

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
This is great. I cut the recipes in 1/2 and baked in a square 8 X 8 pan. Definatly worth using the cream of potato soup. I made exactly as written. Next time Im going to add in some onions and green chiles.

Greek Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Not bad, good flavoring. I used lemon juice instead of the lemon and a little less oregano.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
I have been making these for years. Doesn't sound like much, but they are so good. The measurements I use a just a little different. 1T of onion flakes, 1T poppy seeds, 1T mustard and 1T of worchestershire. They reheat really well too. My husband actually prefers them leftover.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
The chipotle mayo was great, which MADE the tacos. I didnt care so much about the honey lime cumin mixture brushed on the fish. I will definatly make the mayo again when making fish tacos, but I'll probably just season the fish a different way next time.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
I did use 2 pounds of hamburger instead of 1 pound. I didn't read the directions very well because I stirred the soups into the hamburger along with the slasa and taco seasoning before I realized my mistake. The layering of cheese, tortilla, and meat still worked out fine, cant imagine it made much of a difference. I totally omitted the water (which Im glad I did) Since I had made a mistake I guess the consistency of my meat was a little different. Turned out great though. Cooked it on low for 3 hours.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
These were good. I did use an extra egg because they seemed a little dry, plus I crushed up ritz (10 crackers) because I didn't have breadcrumbs. I coated in cornmeal rather than the flour, but otherwise made as written. I did feel they needed a dipping sauce, so I made both the dipping sauces listed by 2 previous reviewers (1Tbsp dijon and 2Tbsp mayo and the second 1/4c sour cream and 1 Tbsp horseradish) Will definatly make again.

This is amazing, the only recipe for cornbread I am ever going to use again. I make it exactly as written. Mine was done in 30 minutes.

Reuben Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
I didn't make as posted, I combined 2 different reuben soup recipes, but went more with this particular recipe. I made the roux with the sauteed vegetables. I then added 3 cans of beef broth, instead of using any water. Put in saurkraut as indicated and also added about 2 TBSP of horshradish, some worcheshire sauce, and some caraway seeds. I used regular corned beef deli meat sliced into chunks. I mixed in 2 cups of swiss and approx 1/8 cup of 1000 island dressing. I toasted cubed pieces of bread and sprinkled additional swiss on top after adding bread.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
The changes I made were used all chicken broth instead of water. For the enchilada sauce I used 1 10 oz can of red and approx 5 oz of green chile sauce. Substituted 1 can of hominy for the corn and added black beans. I did use rotel spicy in place of the whole tomatoes (So I only used 1/2 can). Added 1 Tbsp lime juice and used the crushed tortilla chips. Was very easy, will make again.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
This is very rich, but very good also. My husband hates spinach so that was his gripe about this one. (and I only used 1 package, 2 would have been an overkill). I found that I needed more lasagna noodles than called for. In a 9X13 pan, I could fit 4 noodles across and then tear one in half to cover the end, so maybe next time Ill just cook the whole box rather than running out of noodles again.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
I used beef broth as suggested. I do think the end result needed some more cheese. I had added the chedder so I also put in a few slices of velveeta and left out the carrots, they didn't make sense to me in a cheeseburger soup It was OK, not sure I'll repeat though.

Ham and Swiss Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
Loved this! I did saute the onions and green peppers like suggested (I also added mushrooms) I mixed all together with the exception of the swiss cheese. Poured half in pan, sprinkled with cheese, put other half in and topped with cheese. Even though the ham and soup are salty, I still felt it needed salt at end

Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
I think these tasted alright and was easy, good for a Christmas program cookie at my son's school. Next time I would add more food coloring. The unbaked dough looked OK, but after they baked they were kind of a pale and sickly looking green.

Cauliflower Gratin

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
Pretty good way to make califlower better. I did use real bacon instead of the bacon bits and fresh califlower versus the frozen. I did have to cook the fresh califlower for a couple of minutes to soften a little prior to putting in the oven and I'm glad I did. I feel like this made alot considering it was a side dish. Maybe next time I will cut the recipe in half.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
I cut the recipe in half which was plenty for our family of 5. With the 1 pound of hashbrowns, I ended up using 3/4 can of cream of mushroom soup. Followed directions, it was great.
