Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
Oh my gosh...I just made this and it is TERRIFIC! It has a little tartness and that orange-y sweetness...I'll never buy canned again, that's for sure.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
I added mini chocolate chips in the batter and on the top-it was a smash at my office potluck and at home as well. Moist, flavorful, and easy to make...we're already waiting for the bananas to get 'just right' to make this again!

Chicken Bog

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
I omitted th Italian seasoning-my ex from SC never used that. I did add sliced up hard boiled eggs like he did and used jalepeno ring sausage in it. Great!

Scotch Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
We tried this because we remembered Scotch eggs from the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN. These turned out well, my family devoured them! Nice for a surprise treat at dinner!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2005
I had no trouble with the consistancy at all. It was perfect meatloaf quality. I added garlic powder and finely chopped onion after reading reviews here. We were out of Worchestire :( so I just topped it with a ketchup and mustard mix. Served with baked potatos, this was a hit, and my stubborn son who HATES meatloaf doesn't even know he just devoured it!!!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2005
OK, I know everyone's written about this recipe, but I just have to say that we NEVER eat turkey. I made this for Christmas last year (I was in a "traditional" mode) It literally fell off the bone. It was incredible. We devoured it. NOTHING LEFT. Since then, we've made it several times. Each time - amazing results. I have referred many people to this recipe. It's worth it's weight in gold!

Spicy Mexican Torte

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2005
This was GREAT! I used two tortillas on the bottom and only one between the other layers. I probably will only use one on the bottom next time. I also omitted the red pepper, and it turned out just fine. It has a nice "kick" to it, and even my husband liked it (he's very meat and potatos). Next time I might try some Rotel tomatos with chilis mixed in with the chorizo.

Twist of Honey Orange Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2004
This was ok, but maybe I didn't do something right. The rolls stuck to the pan and tore a bit, and the topping seemed like so much, it poured off the rolls. I'll try it again, though, cause we love orange and honey!

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: May 7, 2002
It was ok, but we really didn't taste the orange flavor at all...it was certainly easy, but we expected more taste.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2002
This was ok, I think my family liked it well enough. It could have used a dash of Worchester I think. Unfortunately we only had the green ketchup on hand so it looked unappealing but it tasted ok. It tasted a little to ketchup-y for me..

Sweetened Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2002
It was very easy to make, and very tasty, but there were clumps that were too sugary. It was not easy to get the mix to coat the popcorn, so next time I think we'll have to try another method other than stirring.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2001
I made this on Christmas Day since it was just my husband and I-we had a HUGE oven stuffer chicken with pop up timer, so I doubled the spices. My husband loved the way it looked and smelled coming out of the oven. He ate it up! It did smoke a bit cooking, but I opened a window and kept the oven fan on, and it was really not a problem. It was soooo easy and yet so good. We will have this again.

Hugs and Kisses Crescents

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
Absolutely fabulous! I used the Hershey nuggets with almond, and just used one per crescent, then put the finished product on a plate and drizzled Hershey's syrup on top. Very big response from the family-will make these again and often, I'm sure!

Country Style Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
We've had these twice now, and they've been popular both times. The first time I prepared a Hot ring sausage, put scrambled eggs inside the ring, and surrounded the ring with the potatoes. It looked spectacular, and wow'd my son's overnight guest.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2001
My son didn't care for this, but my husband thought it was good. It really makes a nice 'splash' when you present a plate full of chops covered in apples and sauce. I did double the sauce, and still thought I could have made more. Would make it again

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2001
I was able to be home all day and added spices periodically. Chicken was seasoned with Lawry's Seasoning Salt, Garlic, Pepper. Turned out well, and my family really ate it up. Hubby was surprised I'd done it in the crock pot! Very tender. I will make it again soon.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2001
This recipe was WAY too salty - my husband ate one small bowlfull and declined more. Soy sauce is very high in sodium, as is Worchester, so I don't know why the recipe needs an additional teaspoon of salt dropped in. Anyway, we felt we couldn't taste the meat, just the salt...

Taco Bake II

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2001
The was EASY to throw together and my family LOVED it!!! It has just a little zing from the chili's, and that perks up the whole dish. It's very filling and kind of fun to eat. We now eat this fairly often, and it's the "last dinner" mean my kids request before leaving on vacations in summer!
