Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip

This recipe was pretty good. I've had a similar one in the past with a bit of bit jalapenos in it for a bit of kick. I think I might throw those in next time along with adding another kind of cheese to beef up the flavor. This recipe is almost better the next day, too!

Spaghetti With Marinara Sauce

This recipe was excellent. Everybody in my family loved it. Plus, I didn't realize making my own spaghetti sauch would be so easy. I won't be using it out of the jar anymore. It's definitely a regular addition to our menu now.

Plain Caramel Apples

Very yummy! My whole family loved them! I didn't think they were too tough or hard at all. I used parchment paper, too, instead of aluminum foil. I just thought there'd be less sticking, and I think I was right. Delish!!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

I LOVE buffalo chicken and buffalo chicken sandwiches. I don't know if it was the sauce I used the ranch packet mixed. Just didn't like it. Maybe I'll try again with a different brand of buffalo sauce.

Funeral Potatoes

Only 4 stars b/c I didn't follow it exactly. I took the advice of others and cut the sauce back. I just used one can of cream of chicken instead of the other 2 soups. Also, half the butter and a little less water. After that, it turned it really good. I didn't feel it was too soupy at all.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

I made this just as written and found that other reviewers were right when they said it was very bland. It was also beyond thick. I added an extra can of diced tomatoes, a can of black beans (rinsed), and some chicken broth to make it a little better consistency. I also added garlic salt, extra chili powder and minced onion. After all that (which wasn't any work at all) it really was very good. My husband even liked it and couldn't believe I had put pumpkin in it. Good base recipe. Definitely needs tweaking.

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

I made this stew with shredded chicken, pork, and beef instead of ground meats b/c that's how we used to make it growing up in VA. It was very good, and a hit with my family. But, I still feel like something is missing. I'll play around with it a little more next time.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

These ribs were so fall off the bone delicious! I've made them twice now, and since it makes so much, my husband takes them to work to share with some travelers away from family. I've gotten requests to please send the recipe with him to hand out. The sauce is so yummy. And these were really very easy too!!

I was excited to make these with the rave reviews. I was so disappointed b/c they were very bland. Nobody in my family was a fan. I think I'll try a different cabbage roll recipe next time.

Jalapeno Poppers I

I was surprised at how everybody else said it was so easy to make. I agreed with the person who said it was time consuming and messy. I followed plastic baggy and the flour. I still didn't think it was easy or quick. The filling was good, though, and we love poppers. So, I think I will attempt it again. I didn't love the cornflakes either. I'll try the bread brumbs next time.

Pretty similar to a tater tot hot dish, only I didn't feel it was as filling. Easy to make, though, and good flavor. It's a good base recipe for you to add in other seasonings or ingredients. My family enjoyed it.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

We love this recipe!! A friend recommended it to us and it's delicious. I always add a bag of mixed veggies about midway through. Just a head's up too - the chicken doesn't take nearly as long as this recipe suggests. But, the biscuits take forever! Much longer than an hour - sometimes 2-3 hrs. I suggest checking the chicken at 5-6 hrs and adding the biscuits for the last couple. Overall, it's a great recipe!!
