Golden Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2015
Mine raised fine (I always use a slightly warmed oven), but they were dinner rolls and not flaky pastry-like rolls the title would lead you to believe

Berry-Filled Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
Well these are delicious, but I can't believe of all the reviews I read, I am the only one to say this...I didn't "check" the temp of the oil w/a thermometer, but each side cooked in 1-2 min each like it said...but my centers were doughy :(. When I finally caught them, I quick zapped them in the microwave for a minute to finish cooking. And I LOVE filled straights, so I made my Grandma's cake filling (like a buttercream) and then frosted them with chocolate frosting. OUT OF THIS WORLD - IF you get the centers done! AND don't fill them while hot....big mistake! They were also good put in a paper bag and shaken with cinnamon sugar. When I made them more stretched out, that helped the centers get done better and if you make small balls, you have the donut holes...yum! I used the Reduced Fat Grands, cut down of course, and we loved the flavor, just have to thin them out more.

Beef Barley Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
My husband and I liked this, but it does need a lot of help on the flavor side. I added garlic powder like someone suggested, and needed to add more, along with pepper and something???? else. I also upped the beef soup base to 4 tsp. and it still needed more help. The rest of the recipe was just as good as I remember having as a kid. Yum!

Cinnamon Pork Loin and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I wasn't a big fan of this. The meat was tender, but overall this was an unusual recipe. The cinnamon could easily be cut in half, the sweet potatoes were almost caked in it! My husband liked this, but we agreed, at least 2 apples, he even suggested 3 or 4, he liked that part so much. I do like the hint of salt on the potatoes, in combination with the cinnamony sweet potatoes. And I served it without gravy, maybe that was my bad? I too did like that once in the oven, dinner is worry free!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Okay, I'll be the meany. I love making my family whole wheat pancakes, but the banana in here was unappealing to me. My kids GOBBLED them up, so we compromised and gave it 3 stars. LOVE the healthy oats AND whole wheat flour, that's why we gave this a try.

Savory Grilled Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
My husband and I did not really care for this. I used no-stick cooking spray to prevent the sticking that reviews mentioned and maybe we got it a little brown, but the mayonnaise was a little "chewy" and just weird for us. Good combination of spices, but I will probably try my own variation with traditional butter/margarine or light olive oil with the spices, but I would use onion powder and not minced dried.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2010
I made this for the kids and call it "Fruitliscious Breakfast Ice Cream" but completely omitted the sugar and used 2/3 c. fat free milk and it was perfect for us, without the fat and extra sugar. I froze the leftover ice cream in small individual containers and thawed slightly the next day and they were excited again to have ice cream at breakfast in their own containers! Excellent, easy and now healthy! I too made it in a blender, which is a bit difficult, but doable.
