Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I was going to try the "Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies", but since I didn't have instant vanilla pudding mix at hand, I opted for this recipe. I wasn't disappointed at all! Like the title, they came out big, fat, and chewy! Definitely one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever baked. The only thing is that the recipe calls for way too much chocolate chips. I only put in around 200 grams, and it was still too much! Anyway, I ran out of butter so I used melted margarine instead. I only used 3/4 cup packed brown sugar and 1/4 cup white sugar. I think if I put in the full amounts of sugar, it would have been overkill. Next time I might try it with only 1/2 cup packed brown sugar and 1/4 cup white sugar. I refrigerated the batter for 1 hour before baking and did not grease the pan. Didn't have too much trouble with getting the cookies off the pan.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I didn't have ground cloves so I completely omitted that from the recipe...still tasted okay. Since my mom doesn't like things that are too sweet, I reduced the sugar to 1/2 a cup and did not roll the dough in sugar. I also didn't have molasses at the time so I used honey instead. The end result was okay...a bit bland because of the adjustments I made, but my mom liked it and the recipe was easy to follow.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Tasted great. Very moist and chocolaty! Better yet, it was really easy to make. I did change the recipe to make it healthier according to the suggestions posted. I substituted low-fat plain yogurt for the sour cream, apple sauce for vegetable oil, found a fat-free chocolate pudding mix, and used 4 egg whites and 2 eggs as opposed to 4 eggs all together. Too bad I didn't have mini chocolate chips! I only had the normal sized ones laying around at the time, so they all sank to the bottom of the cake. I made a 2 layer 8" cake and 6 cupcakes.

Great recipe. These were DELICIOUS! I couldn't stop snacking on them...definitely dangerous having them around when you're on a 'diet'...

Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
Best idea ever! I love bread. I love peanut butter. I love bananas. I love them all together! Such a simple idea, yet I would have never thought of it on my own. Thank you to the original poster! I will be making this more often.

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I loveeeeeee this recipe! I tried a different recipe without reading the reviews and it was a total soggy disaster. This recipe however was PERFECT and easy. I tried one bite and I got so distracted with how good it was that I burnt the second toast on the frying pan! I only used egg white since I had some leftover from something else I was baking. I sprinkled cinnamon on the side of the toast I would fry, and sprinkled more on the other side when flipping. That way, the cinnamon taste wouldn't be all soaked up in the first few slices of bread. Will definitely try it again.

I was just so-so on the taste, but my brother seemed to love it. I did love the simplicity of making it though!

Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
This recipe by itself is EXTREMELY bland, but the simplicity definitely makes up for it. I'll try this again next time adding other ingredients like cheese or something...should be okay after!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup and replaced the vegetable oil for 1/2 cup applesauce just to make it healthier. Still tasted pretty good! Next time I would reduce the amount of chocolate chips...there were too many for my liking...maybe add one more medium banana.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I think I tried this with 1 tsp of vanilla and cut the salt to 1/4 tsp, but it still didn't suit my taste. I mean it was good, but not amazing. I think I like my pancakes a bit sweeter, so next time I will try it with more sugar added to the mix.
