Reuben Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Delicious. Made exactly as recipe is written and it was a huge hit. Several people asked for the recipe and none was left over. I used rye triscuits and it was wonderful.

Creamy Dill Cucumber Toasties

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Very good recipe, but honestly next time I will probably only use 3/4 of the recommended dressing mix because I found it a slight bit too salty. I added extra dill though which helped that. I wanted to make the dip ahead of time, so I chopped the cucumbers and just added them into the dip, I loved that.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Unbelievable. I could have just eaten this with a spoon. Tastes just like a wonderful cannoli filling. I made it for a party last night and everyone went off of their diet because of this. I made it as directed except I used probably double the chocolate chips split between adding in and rolling in. Super quick, easy and delicious.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Good recipe with good flavor. Next time I too will add some cream to the sauce to thicken it. I will also add more mushrooms, probably double. With those changes, I will make this again.

Mushroom Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
This is one of the best chicken piccatas I have ever had, including restaurant versions. It was very easy and quick to prepare. I dipped in the wash and flour twice, and I used a bit more wine and lemon than called for. It was excellent.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Very, very good. I made it exactly as directed, but I did make it the night before, then refrigerated overnight. Put it in slow cooker on low for an hour and then on high for two hours (my fridge is super cold), and no issues at all. Fantastic potatoes. Went great with our pork and sauerkraut today.

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Um, yeah, the best corn bread I've ever had. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I made it exactly as directed and it was amazing. So moist and flavorful. Not the least bit dry like alot of corn breads. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Black-Eyed Pea Salad II

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I can't believe how good this was. I am not a fan of the traditional black eyed pea, so this recipe appealed to me. I honestly thought it would be one of those items that sits on the table out of obligation (New Year's Day), but it literally was inhaled by everyone. I loved it. I improvised the dressing because I had a balsamic dressing on hand, but I did add the dijon and the honey. I made it a day ahead and refrigerated it overnight and it was wonderful. It got rave reviews from everyone.

Slow Cooker Lancaster County Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Perfection. I did two batches exactly as directed and one batch with added apple and brown sugar...then I combined all three batches for serving. Pork was falling apart and the flavors were excellent. I can't wait to go back for leftovers.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Seriously, this cake is incredible. Next time I will use two boxes of cake mix (I used vanilla) and increase the other ingredients appropriately. I like a tall cake, and one box for three layers was cutting it close. I doubled the coffee liquor pretty much everywhere, and I also did two layers with coffee and only one layer of vanilla. The filling was incredible. The flavors are perfect. Thank you for this recipe!

Chocolate Banana Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Very, very good and so quick/simple to make. It was a big hit today. Since I have chocoholics around, I doubled the chocolate and used a chocolate crumb crust. I also used vanilla chocolate chip pudding. Very tasty. I would recommend it and I will make it again.

Virginia Apple Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This was really amazing. Everyone raved about it and I really loved it too, even though something of this texture is not normally my bag. It is almost like a bread pudding, so the title is appropriate. I used about 2.5 cups granny smith apples and I mixed them throughout the batter. I also mixed in a separate bowl then poured into greased pan. Upon removal from oven, I spread caramel sauce over the top and left it sit for a while. Really, really good. I will definitely make this again. It would be great for a brunch or a breakfsst pot luck. And so easy to make.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Such a quick and simple recipe and they are so good! I didn't do uniform sizes so I did find that the bigger, fatter cookies were slightly more moist, but they were all excellent. On about half my batch, I made an indentation in the center and filled it with strawberry all fruit jam and let them sit overnight. The peanut butter and jelly batch was amazing and got lots of compliments from everyone who tasted them.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
The best oatmeal cookies I've ever made. I had baked lots of different cookies the day I made these, and once I was done with the batter, I put it in the fridge to cool and forgot all about it. The next day, the batter was concrete solid. But I worked with it and it softened up, but not enough to add the chocolate chips that I had wanted to. No matter, with no extra add ins they were fantastic. Just right on the outside and chewy inside, and a nice subtle spicy smell and taste.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I'm not sure if I did something wrong, I followed the recipe exactly and the batter/dough was very sticky and really hard to work with. However, the cookies were very good and in one batch I added coconut which I really liked.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
Yes, the best lasagna I've ever made. Everyone loved it. I didn't think it was that much more work than usual, but I did use the no boil noodles. It was excellent. I made it a day before and reheated it for the event, as I enjoy lasagna much more the next day. It was a huge hit and will be my permanent lasagna recipe. Thanks!
