Braised Chicken Breasts in Tasty Mirepoix Ragout

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2012
I made this today and my husband loved it. I used bone in chicken breast, did not season with salt. Once I braised the chicken and cooked the veges, I added the remaining flour and made a roux before adding the wine and broth(I used 6 cups of broth). It made a beautiful thick sauce and we had it over mashed potatoes. We will be making this again !! Thank you for the wonderful recipe

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
OK.. So I followed this recipe exact, and I was not pleased with the results. I doubled the recipe and made 3 loaves that did not rise, they were tasty,But not what I expected. So after reading reviews.. I did what smbowels recommend and dropped the baking powder to 1/2 tsp. I doubled the recipe and made 2 loaves and WOW... What a difference, Exactly what I was looking for. This is a keeper for my Christmas platters !!! Thank you for the wonderful recipe !!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
This Recipe is real good.... I sauted the garlic and chops together before adding to the slo cooker. I thickened the gravy afterwards with 1/4 cup flour mixed with 1/2 cup of cold water. Turned out Fabulous, Porkchops were a lil dry, but they were pretty thick. I just shredded them with the gravy and served them with the honey roasted red potatoes from this site. YUMMY

What a wonderful receipe~ My boss is a celiac (Gluten sensitive) and cannot have any grain alcohol. I was taught by her, using potato vodka on making her own vanilla.

Layered Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
This was a very tasty cake, but the only thing I would do different is taking the same size vanilla INSTANT pudding and mixing that with heavy cream instead of milk. Thats makes more of a thicker pastry cream for spreading, The filling on this recipe isn't very thick. But does as it sets in the fridge. I'll be making this again.

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
I like experimenting with brownie recipes and this one is for sure a keeper. I decrerased cocoa to 3/4 cup and sugar to 1 1/2 cup, increased butter to 3/4 cup. I softened the butter(Did NOT melt) and wisked that in a bowl with the cocoa so it looked like melted chocolate. Then wisked in the sugar, eggs and vanilla, Then stirred in the flour and salt. I do ALOT of baking and all the good brownie recipes usually get handmixed in that order. The only thing I would do different is bake in a square pan, They were awful thin. I like my brownies thick. Thanks for the good recipe!!!

Ukrainian Dill and Garlic Pickles

It was my first try with pickles, I guess I'm just used to store bought. Just not enough seasoning or sour enough. Maybe they'll be better the longer they set.
