Very Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
The custard froze to the perfect consistency and remained decadently sweet. As other reviewers have noted, you have to be precise when making the custard, and cannot rush it! Also, if you deviate from the ingredients (lower fat content for instance) your custard will not have the same consistency after freezing. This is true for any ice cream recipe!

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Sinfully good! Made these for my husband and brother-in-law after a long camping trip, and they kept asking for more! I altered the recipe a bit by using golden raisins and sliced almonds in the filling and on top. Will make again for overnight guests!

Portuguese Kale Soup

Does not disappoint! Have made it as is, and then with chicken sausage & chicken broth, both times were delicious and hearty. Will certainly pull this one out over the winter!

Citrus Turkey Brine

This was my first experience brining and received rave reviews from my guests! I usually only go for the dark meat but the white was very tender and succulent! Great flavor!

Riquisimo!!! My family uses all coconut milk. The hardest part is not burning the caramel, but its a breeze to make!

Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Delicious! Even my husband enjoyed them...and requested them again later in the week! One suggestion: also marinade your veggie toppings like zucchini, red peppers, and onions. A slice of provolone on top or fresh mozzarella provides the perfect touch!

Easy Chicken Posole

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Mexican comfort food! My family's recipe is slightly different: 1) use pork tenderloin, brown it the pot along with garlic and onion. 2) Add chicken broth (reduced to 1 cup) and use 3-4 cups of salsa verde (home-made or Herdez). 3) Skip chili powder and add finely chopped cilantro 4) let simmer for 1-2 hours until meat is tender, then remove from pot and shred with a fork. 5) return the meat to the pot, add hominy. 6) simmer for another 15 minutes at least. Serve with shredded cabbage, lime wedges, and sliced radishes.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Delicious! Was a little wary of how sweet it would be, and I will try just glazing the fish versus using the marinade.

Couldn't believe how popular this was at Thanksgiving! Definitely more like a bisque. It was good, but not my favorite!

Andy's Spicy Green Chile Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Delicious, but don't throw out the liquid! Add canned crushed tomatoes to the salsa, add chicken bouillon, and you've got machaca! Serve with beans and warm tortillas.
