King Ranch Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
this is an easy and quick recipe, that I made with frozen chicken breast, which are very handy to keep around. I might mix the garlic salt and chile powder in with the soup mixture next time. A winner!

Perfect Lobster Bisque

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2007
I made this for friends who love Lobster bisque, 20 of them, and it got rave reviews. I used the Shells to flavor the soup and strained it through a sieve, chopped up the tail meat and sauted with butter for a garnish and it was a huge success. Otherwise followed the recipe. good luck

Cajun Boiled Peanuts

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
Since I don't know how boiled peanuts are supposed to taste, I have no idea if I did this wrong, or if I just didn't like them. I added salt like suggested and they cooked for about 10 hours overnight. It wasn't something I would eat a ton of, but I am very glad I tried it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Dad's Down Home Cornbread and Jalapeno Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
I made this as part of a comfort food dinner party for friends and it was all gone even though I doubled the recipe. I used half as much jalepeno as called for but used a whole box of Jiffy Cornbread mix instead of cornbread and it was delish! Thank you, I will forever call this one "Dad's Meatloaf" no one has to know it wasn't my dad's!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
Huge hit, I made this as part of a comfort food dinner party for friends and it was gone. I had upped it to 12 servings but forgot to get enough half and half so I added a can of cheddar cheese condensed soup and it worked devinely. Thank you! This will become "my" mac and cheese recipe from now on.

this is a very good cereal, but I was looking for a chewy, more snack like, variety. I have no idea what I need to look for so I am gonna keep looking. but this is a wonderful cereal and I am very much enjoying it.

Kathy's Award Winning Barbeque Sauce

My first attempt at making homemade bbq sauce and I am very happy. I like that it is so adaptable to different tastes, but I am very happy with this as is. Thank you!

Cowboy Mexican Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
I love this one, I added a little salsa because I didn't have enough of the tomato's and green chile's and it was great. Only downside was finding right temperature for the crock pot to keep it from burning to the bottom, but also keep it melted.

I think I will take the suggestions and use sour cream next time. This recipe is _almost_ there! I love tweaking for just the right taste.

Wild Mushroom Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2006
The only mistake I made with this one was not knowing how much one of my 2 guests hated mushrooms, but it was fantastic for the rest of us!

Dog Food Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
Big hit with the crowd for Chinese New Year. I had to print the recipe three times for my friends. I did use a whole loaf of "processed cheese food" because I really like cheesy stuff.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2005
This is by far the best chocolate cake recipe I have found. It stays moist and has such a great chocolate flavor. As easy as it is, there is really no need to make it from a box. I was able to make a dozen cupcakes, and 2 two layer cakes with this recipe. UPDATE: I brought this cake to a chocolate tasting party and one comment was "This is the chocolate cake I aspire to make" Too Delish!

Sonny's Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2005
I made this for a crowd and made a whole recipe, the general census was it was "good" but a little bland. Not sure if I missed something in the preperation or not. I still liked it alot.

Chicago Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2004
Spinach dip is always a crowd pleaser. I chopped up some fresh spinach as well just because I had it and it needed to get used. Great recipe, would definitely make again. I might add shredded parmesan in it.

Hot Jezebel

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
I loved this one! I didn't have any horseradish, but I did have wasabi and added that instead. WOW!!! Big hit with all who tried it. I used neufchatel cheese and molded it in a star shaped pan. Great recipe, and a keeper for sure!

Three Bean and Artichoke Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
Did not look all that appetizing, I love the dressing but I couldn't fix the presentation. The Butter beans seemed to have made it mushy. would probably try wax beans next time.

Black Bean Hummus

I loved this as a spread for sandwiches! I will use about 1 tablespoon of lemon juice next time, but otherwise would not change a thing, what a great recipe.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
I read the reviews and went with the Blackberry Merlot and cut the white sugar in half. I made a triple batch, but only used a fifth of Bacardi white rum. I also soaked the fruit for 2 days, turning it twice a day to make sure it all got nice and soaked. Nectarines, Lemons, Limes, Apples, Oranges, Strawberries were what I used. Next time, much more strawberries and maybe 1 lemon and more oranges. I thougt of using Orange flavored rum and cut out all the white sugar, but thought I should just change one thing at a time. Wonderful, the fruit and drink was gone in no time.
