Tropical Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
i wasn't bad but it wasn't great. The flavor was more tangy than expected. I was expecting sweet. Over all, for me and my family it was just okay.

This was just okay. I ended up adding BBQ sauce to my chicken to add more flavor.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
It is a great recipe! Especially for first timers like me :) I rated it 4 stars b/c i read a lot of the reviews & made quite a few changes based off that. I didn't feel i could give it 5 stars since i didn't do the original recipe first. I added 1/3 of Lipton Onion Soup mix to the hamburger meat , along with a squirt of Dijon mustard, and a tbsp of all purpose flour w/ the other required ingredients. I also cooked the meat in a little olive oil about half way done. With the gravy, i went with a couple different reviews and decided to do my own thing. I used 2 brown gravy pkgs and started adding ingredients as i went. I did the recommended amount of water on pkg. I added a can of cream of mushroom soup, the rest of the Lipton Onion Soup mixture, sliced mushrooms, sliced onions, and a squirt of Dijon mustard. I only put about half the recommended about of ketchup; no flour and and salt and peppered to my liking. Poured it on top the meat after pouring out the grease. And let it simmer for about 20 mins, stirring often. My husband loved it!!! I thought it was great!! For a first time and kind of doing my own thing, it turned out great. But if you don't like a really onion taste, then leave out the sliced onions. I will definitely be doing this again. Thanks for the recipe and suggestions!!

Perch Fillets

Definitely good/different flavor. Had difficulty frying. I think how it comes out depends on the oil and temp. But overall good recipe and simple to make.

Quick and Easy Mexican Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
I was fast and easy. Had a simple but favorable taste. Good with Spanish Rice. You can also add toppings to give it more flavor. like building a burrito. What your taste buds desire add to it after cooking as toppings.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
Yes, this recipe is the Bomb! It was my first time making bread pudding and it was delicious :) Yum! I added a bit more white sugar and topped with caramel sauce after done cooking. I also added 1/2 cup more milk bc I wanted it soft and gooey. But the original recipe was delicious too. Everyone kept saying it was too much sugar, but I thought it fine. I actually added more sugar the 2nd time bc it wasn't sweet enough for me. But everyone's taste buds are different. The only thing I have to say is the nutmeg is very strong, so I would lightly sprinkle it. You can also substitute for cinnamon if you prefer. Still great!!

Tuna Patties

I didn't put the sauce on top. But the tuna patties by themselves were great! My husband don't like tuna very much but he loved these patties :)

Southwestern Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
This recipe was just okay. I didn't have jalapenos, so i added a little bit of hot sauce for a kick. It had flavor just not enough for my families tongue. Also, it would probably be good with some corn thrown in. If I ever try this recipe again, I'm gonna try it with corn. I did however add a little spicy BBQ sauce as a topping and it did give it a better flavor. But just made as the original recipe is not the greatest :( You definitely have to add your own style and flavors to make it your own and what taste good to you.

Cousin David's Slow Cooker Brisket

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Okay so I love my slow cooker and this recipe was great for it! First off my husband and I are from the south and we love for our food to have flavor. This recipe has it! But we also experimented. I couldn't find the Hinez Chili sauce, so we used store brand sweet chili sauce. I added sliced onions to the bottom of the crockpot like someone reccommended in a review. Also, I added hot sauce, chili powder, and cheyenne powder. We love spicy food and this just kicked the flavor to a whole other level! It was AMAZING!! My husband couldn't get enough and ate on it all week bc I cooked so much.

Black Beans

This was a simple recipe to follow but didn't give me the flavor I was hoping for. My husband and I are from the south and love our seasonings! The spicier the better. But the flavor in this was just okay. Not enough though...

So I have to tell you that my husband & I are not big spinach eating people. But in order to get healtier foods in our diet we tried this recipe. It was SO GOOD!!! We absolutly loved it! I put more spanich in than the recipe called for just so I didn't have any left over in the bag; and it was still GREAT!!

Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This was so great! I use a shallow pan that didn't have the hole in the middle and mine didn't turn out cooked in the middle either. So the next time I used a bunt pan and it was perfect! My husband and I make this when we cooked Italian food and it goes great togther. I even gave my dog some and she gobbled it up! Lol!! But it is so good.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This was definitly tasty! I'm not much on spinach or artichokes, but I enjoyed this. The cheese and sour cream gave it a diiferent taste. I didn't use mayo like the recipe calls for or yogurt like another review recommended. I just omitted it. It was still great!!

Peppered Bacon and Tomato Linguine

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
My husband and I love this recipe! We are from the south and love dishes w/ tons of flavor; and the flavor in this dish is different but oh so good! It's easy and doesn't cost alot - A plus(+) for young couples w/ small budgets! Loved It!! I read alot of the reviews on adding this or that... the main recipe is great! But I did try it w/ more garlic and more diced tomatoes. Great too! Food is always an experiment and u can always make changes to make it ur own. But the Original Recipe is Awesome!!
