Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Wow! A quick, easy, super tasty, and healthy vegetarian dish. I prefer to use chopped fresh tomatoes, but the canned ones work in a pinch. It's also very easy to adjust the heat level to preference. I am sure that I will be making this dish again and again.

Doggie Birthday Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
This cake smells wonderful, and, yes, the birthday pup and his guests loved it! To the recipe we added only a tablespoon of honey and used brown rice flour in lieu of the wheat/white. We frosted the cake with a mixture of cream cheese and cottage cheese and decorated with some mini biscuits.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
Delicious bread! I had to make a couple substitutions: fresh milk and general purpose flour, but the bread still turned out excellent (just took a bit longer to rise). This recipe also works well as free form artisan loafs baked on baking stone.

Creamy Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
Delicious! Make the crust out of crushed chocolate Teddy Grahams and the pie with crunchy p'butter and freshly whipped cream, replaced peanut butter cups with Reese's Pieces and drizzled with warmed Nutella.

Very nice sauce. I've been putting it on my homemade yogurt with a little wheatgerm for breakfast. Yummy!

Graham Cracker Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2011
The proportions in this recpe are just right. I made this with crushed chocolate teddy grahams for a peanut butter pie. The combination was spot on. Note, I placed the crackers in between parchment and crushed coarsely with a rolling pin, then finished them off in the blender

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
These cookies were a big hit in this year's Christmas cookie plates and tins, always the first eaten up and garnering lots of compliments... They are super easy to make to boot! This is going to be my go to chocolate chip recipe for awhile.

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I have been baking a lot of pies lately, and have been working on further perfecting my crusts. Using this recipe as a base, I've made the best so far, so tender and flaky. The dough is a little tough to work with, but that's absolutely necessary for a flaky crust. I did make some modifications. I used 1/2 cup chilled shortening and 1/3 cup chilled butter. Used enough ice water to achieve the right "crust" consistency. I keep the dough in the fridge while preparing the filling, and roll it out right before needed. I usually brush the crust with egg white and bake for 3-5 minutes before filling.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
A very nice pudding recipe. Great as is, or add an egg yolk for a little extra richness. I used farm fresh milk and homemade butter, as well as a high quality dutch cocoa, and the taste was simply decadent.
