Weekday Pot Roast and Vegetables

I think 10 hours is too long. I made a 2.5 lb roast and it was well done in 8 hours. I suggest checking on the roast after 5 hours. After this recipe I will probably stick with onion soup mix.

Salmon with Dill

I used the advice of a previous reviewer and only cooked for 10-12 minutes and it came out perfect! Any longer and it would have been dry. Note that the recipe calls for a lot of seasoning and when I was putting it on the fish I thought it was too much... it wasn't! I thought it gave a good flavor... I will definitely use this recipe again!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Love it! I used canola oil instead of lard and it turned out fine except 1/4 cup was a little too much oil and I had to sear the steak on another pan on high heat w/ no oil to keep crispy. I also doubled the gravy by just doubling the ingredients.... 4 tbl spoon flour 2 cups of milk. I like my gravy really rich so I used 1 cup 2% 1 cup half-and-half and it really was rich!! Note that it might take longer to cook steaks and gravy then noted in recipe but overall I like this simple and delicious recipe!! Yummy!

Japanese Chicken Wings

I really like this recipe but really recommend not frying the wings. I love fried food but don't fry these wings. They taste better just baked. Take your wings and season them w/ what you like... garlic salt, salt.. etc. spray with some pam and bake at 375 for 30 minutes, flip bake 20 minutes. Then add the sauce and baste often until wings are fully cooked like 20-30 minutes. Yummy!!

Best Ever Pie Crust

This recipe has a good guide for the amount of ingredients to use. As others have suggested, I used 1/2 shortening 1/2 butter. However, as many pie recipes recommend it is good to freeze the shortening (or butter) before use and use very cold water (I suggest using ice water and adding with a spoon slowly). If you have never made pie before it is useful to watch videos on how to make pie crust because this will really help you understand what to do..... But my crust came out delicious and yummy!!

Jackie's Special Meatloaf

A really easy recipe for meatloaf! But I have made 3 times and made some changes - I Don't use the salf-free seasoning blend. I add fried garlic, fresh cut onion instead onion powder and a bit of worcestershire sauce.. soo good!!

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Great recipe! If using a mixer be sure to use a low setting and not mix too much - otherwise the pie will bake with bubbles. It will taste the same but it just won't look as nice. Overall, I love this recipe and will definitely use it again. Thanks..
