Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
wow! really great. added onion powder and chili powder too, used my citrus salt instead of regular because i didnt have coriander, didnt use any broth. used less cinnamon than all the other spices but it was a nice background flavor, glad i used it. i seasoned pork, then seared it in hot pan, covered it with foil and a lid, then popped it in the oven at 300 degrees for about 2 hours. after it pulled apart easily i added more seasoning, to taste, served with my homemade tomatillo salsa, chopped red onions, sour cream, and toasted flour tortillas(hang tortilla over rack in oven @450 degrees until crisp). sooooo yummy! jesse loved!

yum. dusted thin strips of beef round roast (cut against the grain) with flour before browning. doubled sauce, used some beef stock to increase sauce volume. added carrots and onion and peas, shook on sesame seeds too. added hot pepper flakes to give some heat. served with glass noodles followed directions except i took out beef after just browned then added it back in after veggies were done and sauce was thickened and cooked all together for a minute or so
