Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Waaay too much salt. Very disappointing. I had a feeling it was too much when I put it in. Should have trusted my instincts. If I make this again, I will only use half a teaspoon.

Indian Chapati Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
For so few ingredients, this was definitely a surprise! The trick is to definitely roll out the balls as thin as you possibly can once you've let them rest for awhile or else the end product may be rubbery and too dough-y. I made mine on a cast-iron skillet with non-stick spray. I also added garlic powder, turmeric, cumin, basil, and curry.

Coffeebar Chai

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Yum yum yum yum I am in love. I added on an extra cinnamon stick and some ground cinnamon, as well as fresh ginger root. Had to omit the cardamom because I didn't have any. Left out the milk because I was planning to use this as a chai concentrate that I can refrigerate for later use. Soo good. Thanks for the recipe. Also, some advice for optimum enjoyment: FIRST, boil the water, then steep the tea bags REMOVED FROM HEAT for about four minutes. Remove the bags, return to heat, add remaining ingredients, bring that to a boil, and then simmer for at least fifteen minutes. No need to ruin the tea by making it too bitter!

Indian Saffron Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
I cut the butter down to 1 scant tablespoon (unsalted) and only used 1/2 teaspoon salt. I can't get over how GOOD this was. I served it on some red leaf lettuce with tandoori chicken and chapati bread.

Cajun Pasta Fresca

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
I just made this for dinner. I used whole wheat pasta and added shrimp, which I tossed in a teaspoon of my homemade cajun seasoning. I didn't have mozzarella, so I used parmesan and harvati. I cut waaay back on the amount of olive oil, the tomato juices were enough to do the trick. Also added chopped cilantro. This is definitely a fresh, healthy, easy, and delicious dinner.

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2010
These were great. I spread butter on the dough before spreading the cinnamon sugar over it for moistness and so that the cinnamon sugar would stay in the rolls better. The icing was tasty too. Mine didn't rise much in the fridge either but I let it rise for an hour before baking and they puffed up beautifully! I only cooked them for about twenty minutes

Very tasty. I already had all these ingredients, save a few. I used spinach and romaine. I also kinda made the emphasis on dijon for the dressing, which came out pretty yummy. I also put avocado and fresh orange tomato. it was gooood

Bread Machine Focaccia

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
Very good bread. Had to add about an extra teaspoon of olive oil during the dough cycle. I also threw in some parmesan cheese and italian seasoning. Used dry rosemary and garlic powder instead of fresh. I also cooked it on an oiled cookie sheet, with oil and rosemary atop the dough as well. I cut them panini style and we ate them with my herb butter. Will definitely make again.

Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
These were really, really good. I added 1 teaspoon of maple extract, and it should be noted that I had to use waay more than a light amount of flour. Had no problems with the dough, and found out the scones came out best after 13 minutes instead of 15. Once cooled, I frosted these with the Decorator Frosting recipe by P. Oakes from this site, to which I added 1 teaspoon of maple extract and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract.

Tart Lemon Sorbet

Very good. Not too lemon-y at all, the ratio was just fine. I followed the recipe, but added some lemon extract. Very refreshing, very addicting.

I was out of eggs, so I used diluted cornstarch. They are sooo good! For best results, refrigerate overnight. I had no problems with the dough when I did this. thanks!

Banana Waffles

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I'd give this 4.5 stars if possible. I used vegetable oil instead of eggs, lots of cinnamon instead of nutmeg and like everyone else, I mashed the bananas in with the batter. they were awesome, smelled and tasted like banana bread

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Very good, simple soup. I made it in my slow cooker and cooked it for about eight hours, adding the cheese in before serving. I left out the ham and used Mild California Cheddar from Trader Joe's. Very filling and healthy, was even thick with skim milk. Thanks for the recipe, I will definitely be making this again.

This crust is amazing. I used 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and used whole wheat for the rest. I topped it with a homemade pizza sauce and cheddar, feta, and goat cheese.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
Baked mac and cheese should always have bread crumbs! Good ingredients, though I did my own thing with the measurements. I also used mild cheddar and harvati. I think the onions are a great addition.
