Baby Blue Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
Great and fun recipe! I did modify things a bit because I couldn't find plain white cranberry juice, so I used white grape juice. Also, last minute I decided to halve the sugar amount to avoid adding too much so I only used about 1/2 a packet of powder mix & 1/2 cup of sugar. It turned out great! I can see where people may not like the ice cream because it can look clumpy after sitting awhile (at least an our), but it didn't affect the taste one bit. My 2-year old loved the floating duck for his birthday! Can't wait to try different colors!

Roasted Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
This was a great recipe! The only thing I would change is the amount of chili powder. I like spicy food, but the chili powder seemed to overpower the steak and garlic seasoning. I would recommend 1 tsp. or less of chili powder and upping the amount of garlic. We used frozen veggies w/the peppers and it turned out great!

Pumpkin Waffles with Apple Cider Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
One word...Yummy!!! I followed the recipe by the book, except for one thing...I accidentally added the entire can of pumpkin (about 2 cups) - they still turned out awesome and the pumpkin wasn't overpowering at all.

Easy Bake Fish

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
First, the honey mustard sauce was great! But, I don't think it paired with the fish we used which was some type of frozen ocean fish. The fish seemed to taste a lot fishier than when I've made it differently in the past. I would definitely pair the sauce with some chicken or pork, though!

Slow Cooker Lancaster County Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
My husband said this was "superb!" He said he wouldn't mind eating this once a week! I followed some of the advice - adding brown sugar and some apple slices. I had to scale everything down a bit because I only had less than 2 lbs. or pork loin to work with. Personally, I would go easy on the caraway seeds because they do have a strong flavor. If you really enjoy rye bread, than you won't mind their strong flavor. I only used 1/2 of an apple thinly sliced because I was a bit nervous about adding apples. But, they tasted great! I even let the roast get to 170 degrees and it still turned out really moist and pull-apart tender. Yummy!

Ranch Burgers

These were awesome! I made these last minute when I found out my in-laws were coming over for dinner. They all raved about it! I think I even forgot to add the crackers and they still turned out great!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Awesome recipe! I paid attention some of the other comments and tried to incorporate them. Next time, though, I will leave the wine and rosemary out - too overpowering for our tastes even though we love to cook with wine. I used a 3.25 lb roast and only used one can of soup and 3/4 can of water and 1/2 can of wine. I still had to add flour to thicken the gravy. I would sear it with some garlic salt seasoning and flour again, though! Also, 9 hours on low is a max for this recipe.

Creamy Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
Definitely spray the the slow cooker before cooking these. Keep it on low heat and let cook that way and stir as minimally as possible so the potatoes don't break up and get mushy. Fabulous recipe! I get great reviews and requests for more every time I make it.

Coconut Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
The recipe turned out great. I made a homemade crust to go with it instead of the graham-cracker crust and it tastes great. Next time, though, I think I will cut way back on the almond flavor. It's pretty strong and a little too strong for my husband's liking. Otherwise, great pie!!

Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
This was my very 1st time making curry and it turned out awesome! I followed some of the recommended tips, though. I ended up adding about a tbs of baking powder/water mixture to help thicken the sauce. Also, for next time I would cut the fish sauce amount in half. I had a hard time getting past the smell when I put it in the dish and then could smell/taste it throughout the entire dinner. I think I might add julienned carrots and some broccoli next time, too. :o)

Sheila's Perfect Sangria

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I made this for my 30th b-day party and it was a huge hit. Be prepared to be chopping for awhile, though. One change I would do is to cut some of the citrus fruit and liquids out and add more red wine b/c it tasted a bit too citrusy. I also didn't use the coconut rum b/c some of my friends do not like coconut. But, it might be a good thing to keep in for next time.
