About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I make pizza every Friday night. We've been experimenting with sauces and pesto's, and recently perfected our whole wheat pizza crust. Add in a nice bottle of red wine and a movie, and we've got a perfect evening.
My cooking triumphs
I love experimenting while baking. Any time I make muffins and am able to turn it into a low fat, low sugar, high fiber mouth watering breakfast...we'll, to me that's a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
I have a LOT of tragedies. My most recent one is when I made my first zucchini bread. After 50 minutes of baking (looked and smelled delicious), I tried to take it out of the pan, and, Oops...the whole inside oozed out. :( That was a sad morning.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting
I made this for my sons birthday. Thankfully I doubled the recipe because I kept eating it by the spoonful. :(

Pad Thai
Very tasty and easy to make! My only changes would be to double (or triple!) the sauce and to add about a tablespoon of peanut butter to the sauce. Instead of meat, I substituted with extra firm tofu (cut into 1 inch cubes and fry in olive oil). My husband and I both loved it! I will definitely make this again.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread
This was my first time baking beer bread. I was a little worried at first because I don't like beer very much. But I was making a spicy black bean soup, and I read somewhere that a beer bread would compliment it very nicely. The bread turned out beautifully, it was quite easy to make, and it was delicious. I followed the recipe exactly as it was give. Next time, the only thing I will change, is by adding a little less sugar... maybe half of what it calls for. Neither my husband nor I have a sweet tooth, so this is just preference.
