Cider Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I really loved this recipe! We enjoyed it with french bread pieces, steamed cauliflower, and apples. Our cheese never really fully integrated with the juice, but it wasn't bad. I think it was because I chose sharp cheddar, which is harder than mild cheddar. Beautiful cheese fondue.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2011
I wish these were more gooey. There wasn't much oozy, drippy cinnamon goodness inside. The dough itself was great, though. Next time, I'll double the filling (butter/brown sugar/cinnamon) and see if that helps. I'll also double the frosting, and a couple reviewers also added a package of unprepared vanilla instant pudding to make it taste just like Cinnabon.

Egg in a Boat

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
We used to have this on Christmas mornings when I was a kid. My mom would use cookie cutters to make fun shapes in the middle. Always fun!! We never had them over easy, though. We always flipped the bread while the egg was in it. It makes one side a little messy, but it tasted great! :)

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
Delicious! We like to roll ours out a little thicker, so it took a little longer to bake. We frosted it with our stand-by cream cheese frosting. Half of the recipe made about 2 1/2 sheets of cookies, or about 30 cookies, in case you were wondering.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
LOVED this! I substituted honey for the sugar (same measurement) and used all whole wheat flour. The only thing I'd change is to take out the banana. It made it taste like a banana nut muffin with blueberries, rather than a blueberry muffin. I, too, think this recipe is a great base for other healthy muffins - I'd like to try an apple cinnamon muffin next time. Thanks for a great recipe!

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
Love this! Tasted GREAT. Wear a bib, though, because my white shirt got sprayed with blueberry juice THREE separate times while eating! YUMMY!! :) I used something called "white whole wheat flour" which was a nice, mild flour - the pancakes didn't even taste whole wheat-y. I didn't put in any of the sugar substitute, or anything else to sweeten it up because I was going to use syrup on top. But when I took my first bite, I decided to forgo the syrup, and I just loved it!! Thanks for such a great recipe!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
How can you call this 'whole wheat' when more than half of the flour is white flour??? We tried the recipe with all wheat flour, and it turned out great! My mom loved it because the gluten developed quickly, which required less kneading. It wasn't QUITE as yummy as I was hoping, so I may try some more bread recipes on this site to find my favorite. This bread makes great sandwich bread - the loaf stays together well when cutting. It also makes great toast! :)

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
DELICIOUS!!!! And so SUPER EASY!!! I love this meal! I didn't have chili beans, so I just added a can of northern beans, since that's what I had on hand. I also used a spicy taco seasoning that made up for it. I substituted the beer with chicken broth instead. And I didn't have diced tomatoes with green chilies, so I just used plain diced tomatoes and added a can of diced green chilies. I also just left everything in the crock pot until we were ready to eat. The chicken fell apart easily as I stirred. We enjoyed it with sour cream and cheddar cheese and crushed chips on the top! Thanks for such a great recipe! This definitely goes in my favorites. :)

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
This recipe is a great starting point for whatever you want to do! I had some Italian-spiced ground turkey that I used, so I just put some salt and pepper and onion salt in, plus parmesan cheese. It was fantastic! This recipe can easily be adapted for all kinds of meatballs too!

Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
Completely tasteless. Don't waste your ingredients on this recipe. The recipe worked exactly like it was supposed to - it wasn't grainy or anything, and it set beautifully. It just tasted boring!! That was a huge waste of 3 cups of chocolate chips. :(

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Looking for a better recipe, but this one did the trick for Thanksgiving. :) We tossed in a little whipping cream, which made the filling quite creamy and frothy. :)

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
So I'm not a big fan of meringue pies, but I do LOVE lemon cream pies. I used this recipe for the lemon portion, and just topped it off with fresh whipped cream, and it was AWESOME!!!! Perfect consistency and taste! I had to use lemon juice (about 3/4 cup) since I didn't have fresh lemons, and I also put some yellow food coloring to make it more appealing. This will be my standard recipe for lemon pies/tarts from now on. Loved it! :)
