Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
The first time, I overbeat it by accident. The second time, it came out perfectly because I just put all the ingredients in at once, so I was able to jjust beat it once. Deeeelicious! I used it on a chocolate cream pie and a sweet potato pie.

Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
I've done it exactly as written except I used freshly boiled sweer potatoes, and most recently, I didn't have enough sweet popotatoes, so I used a can of pumpkin. I added a teaspoon cinnamon to the potatoes and everyone said it was the best I'd ever made. Score!

Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Made it for Christmas and everyone raved about how delicious it was! I only added butter, salt and cheddar inside and put the rest of cheese, bacon, and French onions on top. I rested foil on top so the French onions wouldn't burn. I let people add fresh minced chives and sour cream on top of their portions. Scrumptious!

Fudgy Chocolate Cream Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2012
Perfect! First time making this kind of pie, and I used the "butter flaky pie crust" from this site. I used 2.5 oz of gherardelli dark chocolate chips instead of 1 oz unsweetened chocolate. Everyone said it was the best French silk pie ever!

White Christmas Cake

Phenomenal! I made it exactly as stated. My guests wouldn't stop raving about it, and I think it's my favorite cake ever. I'm normally a chocolate girl, but this somehow beats any chocolate cake!

Green Beans with Almonds and Caramelized Shallots

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
I've made it twice, and both times I didn't use red peppers because my kids would turn their noses up at it. I also didn't use sugar...didn't see the need. It's now everyone's favorite green bean dish!

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
Everyone kept saying it was the best prime rib they ever had! And I agree! I made two 5 pound roasts and timed the cooking as a 5 lb cut. I used fresh thyme. As others suggested, I did 12 min at 460, 8 at 400, and 1 hr and 40 min at 325. Came out perfect at 125 degrees. I can't get over how good this was!

Halloween Bloody Baked Rats

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
My daughter LOVED telling Grandma that we'd be having "Bloody Rats" for dinner! I didn't do the cheese thing. I added the worcestershire sauce and some soy sauce and garlic powder to the meat. I shaped 7 rats, put them on a drip pan (not sure if that's what it's called) so that the fat would drip away from the meat. I baked it like this for 25 minutes. Then I put them in a baking dish with a large can of pasta sauce poured over and around the rats and baked them for 10 minutes, turned off the heat while I finished the rest of my dinner. It was perfect!!! And Grandma said, "I love these rats! We should have them more often!". My daughter got a kick out of this! I paired this all with witches fingers (biscuits shaped into fingers with almond slivers as nails), boiled brains (a whole cauliflower, cut in half and boiled for 10 minutes and drizzled with watered down ketchup when served), eyeballs (deviled eggs with an olive for the iris), worms (spaghetti pre-chopped into small pieces) and "Kitty Litter Cake" from this site. Dinner was horrific! lol

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Cooked the bacon in the oven at 400 until it was done, let it cool, then broke it up into pieces. I added this to the soup about half-way through cooking. SO yummy!

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2011
First time making enchiladas, and the fam gobbled 'em right up! I cooked the chicken, taco seasoning and some water in a crock pot from nearly 3 hours, shredded it, then returned it to the crock, added the cream of chicken, squeezed the whole lime into the mix, then assembled the enchiladas without having any sauce on the bottom of the dish. I poured some enchilada sauce pver it, but saved about half the can to be poured on individually. I also topped with a TON of cheese. The fam wants this added to the regular rotation. :-)

Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
The BEST pasta ever! It's not often that I make a recipe exactly as it's written and have it come out fabulous. This is a rare gem. Great with steak or chicken parm. Even my 5 yr old loved it and didn't even notice the slight kick the red pepper flakes gave it!
