Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2001
I expected it to be good, but I never dreamed it would be as good as it was. My 4-year-old daughter and I had a great time making it and I can see myself bringing it to a lot of potlucks and get-togethers. Excellent recipe!

Whipped this up one night and it was gone in no time; everybody loved it.

Husband's Delight

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2001
I wasn't too crazy about this recipe, but my man was so I'll probably make it again. Next time I won't layer noodles over top as they ended up hard. I don't like onions at all but they didn't ruin the casserole. My 4 year old wouldn't even touch it (not a fan of red meat)

Green Beans with Bread Crumbs

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2001
This recipe didn't go over well with me but my boyfriend (who will eat anything) thought they were okay. Urged my daughter to try them because they had cheese, but even the cheese couldn't save this BAD recipe.

Smashed Potato-and-Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2001
LOVED this recipe. My boyfriend and I usually avoid onions but I added them anyway and I'm glad I did. This does not taste low fat to me! I will definetely make this again and again.

Banana-Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2001
The whole family loved this recipe, even my finicky 4-year-old. Doesn't taste light. I can see myself making this a lot, for potlucks and family get-togethers and especially just to have around the house to snack on! Delicious

Mom's Texas Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2001
I let my chicken get a little too done but you couldn't even taste the burnt part! The gravy was excellent on my mashed potatoes. I thought the breading on the chicken would get soggy and taste gross but it was great. I'll definetely make this again!

Beer Cooked Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2001
My boyfriend and I loved this recipe. I used a jar of mushrooms because I don't like fresh ones and it was great. It made my kitchen stink like a keg party for a while, but was definetely worth it. I'll make this again and again.

Wonderful Margaritas

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
My boyfriend thought these were too tart and I should have added some water, but I thought they were excellent! I love sweet drinks that don't really taste like alcohol and with this one I caught a nice happy buzz before I knew it. I'll make these again.

Cheddar and Onion Soup Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2001
After reading other reviews I added rice and used more water and still found it to be too oniony. It wasn't horrible but I don't see myself making it again anytime soon.

Lower Fat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2001
I cut the recipe in half because I only have 1 pan that size and it still made plenty. The raisins added flavor but I found the crust to be hard and dry. I'll make this again though because I love banana bread. Can't imagine it w/out walnuts. Got gooey after a couple days.

Cheeseburger Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2001
I used ground turkey instead of hamburger because my 4-year-old doesn't like red meat, and since we're watching what we eat i used low-fat sour cream and cheese. I thought it was really good and very filling. I think next time I'll use onion powder instead of soup mix, too oniony.

Cooking Light magazine's Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2001
Good recipe to serve with pasta and garlic bread. It was easy and fast, I already had all the ingredients so it was convenient. Next time I won't smother it completely in sauce because I like a crisper outside. My 4 year old found it too chewy and didn't like it at all (ok, she spit it out)

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
This recipe was good but needed way more butter (maybe I just used too many potatoes). I added mushrooms and bacon pieces and it was excellent. I let my man be in charge of the grill (he wouldn't have it any other way) so he had to cook them with no instructions other than "flip them halfway through". On the bottom I had written I LOVE YOU and drawn pretty pictures all over the foil. He loved it! Said he felt like he was back in high school.

Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
My man isn't always good in the kitchen but I gave him this recipe and they turned out good. He thought they were bland but my 4 year old asked me if I'd make it every day! She's never said that before, so I foresee myself making this in the future (but no, not every day)

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
This recipe took a long time to make but was worth it. Next time I make it I'll start cooking BEFORE I get hungry. My man gave it 4 stars and said it was his 2nd favorite recipe I've ever made. Even our 4 and 5 year old loved it. No need for a knife to eat these.

T's Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
No one in my house liked this recipe. The mushrooms and tomatoes burned because the chicken cooked too slowly. The lemon juice gave it a funny taste that I personally don't want to taste ever again. She was right, though, it is easy to make.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2001
This recipe was excellent!! Next time I'll cut it in half because it's so filling that there was way too much left over. Loses it's excellence when reheated. Doesn't hold it's shape when removed from the pan but who cares? It tasted great.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2001
Either I was really hungry or this recipe was awesome, either way I ate half of the dish! (and I'm not a big woman). My boyfriend loved it, too, and encouraged me to make it again. My 4 year old only ate the tater tots and cheese but no meat. I also like my tater tots crispy so I put them on the very top and added more cheddar at the end.
