Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
My family really loved this recipe, even my extremely critical boyfriend. I melted the butter and poured it over the chicken and it was very juicy. Next time I won't do that because it made the breading soggier than I'd have liked. I said 'next time' because I plan on making this again and again.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
This casserole was good, I made it for thanksgiving dinner at my boyfriend's mom's house only to discover that his aunt made a similar casserole that tasted even better. I was so disappointed but I know this still tasted good.

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
The sauce was too runny and it didn't taste cheesy enough. I don't think I used enough rice. My boyfriend really liked this; he's been eating the leftovers for days!

Angel Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
I thought this was mushy, but everyone else who ate it loved it. I topped it with cool whip and Skor chunks. My boyfriend couldn't get enough of it and neither could his family.

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
This was SO tasty! I took it to Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's and I ended up having to hide it so I'd have some leftover to take home and eat later! I frosted the top graham crackers before putting them in the pan and I tried the trick where you melt the remaining frosting and pour it into the cracks - it made it look sloppy because it didn't dry the same color as the other frosting. Anyway, the recipe was AWESOME! ***** I'll be making this again and again...

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2001
my boyfriend loved this recipe and wants me to make it again and again. he even went so far as to say it was the best chicken and noodles recipe he's ever tasted which is a HUGE compliment coming from him (he's cruelly brutally honest about his opinions on my cooking). looks like i'll be making this one again!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2001
my man (who absolutely hates onions) said this was the worst meatloaf he ever tasted but my 4-year old (who hates red meat) asked for more and called it delicious. I personally loved it but next time I'll skip the jellyroll part and just layer it like lasagna because it was way too complicated for me. I tried so hard and it was still so messy. I even tried wrapping it in foil but that just made it take extra long to cook and still made a yummy cheesy mess.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2001
This recipe should be called 'Juiciest Tastiest Turkey Ever' because that's exactly what it was! This was my first time making a turkey and it turned out excellent. I stuck a stick of butter in the turkey as well to make it extra juicy. Amazing!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2001
My whole family LOVED this recipe!! I added the seasonings in the biscuit mix and skipped the parchment paper. They tasted just like Red Lobster and didn't stick to my greased pan. My 4 year old couldn't get enough of them, so I know I'll be making these over and over again. Not as good cold, so try to eat them when they're fresh.

Chicken Monterey

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2001
I invited my sister and her husband over when I made this recipe and I think he wished he'd have married me instead of my sister! They LOVED this recipe and so did I. Even my picky 4 year old ate this one. My man griped about how unhealthy it was with all the butter and cheese but I love butter and cheese and I've already made this twice (with regular salt and pepper and chicken broth, plus extra broth to replace the wine which I didn't have on hand). *****

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2001
I expected to love this recipe but it turned out to not be to my family's liking. I took some to a potluck at work and they didn't get eaten. Not a recipe I'll make again.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2001
Either I was really hungry or this recipe was awesome, either way I ate half of the dish! (and I'm not a big woman). My boyfriend loved it, too, and encouraged me to make it again. My 4 year old only ate the tater tots and cheese but no meat. I also like my tater tots crispy so I put them on the very top and added more cheddar at the end.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2001
This recipe was excellent!! Next time I'll cut it in half because it's so filling that there was way too much left over. Loses it's excellence when reheated. Doesn't hold it's shape when removed from the pan but who cares? It tasted great.

T's Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
No one in my house liked this recipe. The mushrooms and tomatoes burned because the chicken cooked too slowly. The lemon juice gave it a funny taste that I personally don't want to taste ever again. She was right, though, it is easy to make.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
This recipe took a long time to make but was worth it. Next time I make it I'll start cooking BEFORE I get hungry. My man gave it 4 stars and said it was his 2nd favorite recipe I've ever made. Even our 4 and 5 year old loved it. No need for a knife to eat these.

Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
My man isn't always good in the kitchen but I gave him this recipe and they turned out good. He thought they were bland but my 4 year old asked me if I'd make it every day! She's never said that before, so I foresee myself making this in the future (but no, not every day)

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
This recipe was good but needed way more butter (maybe I just used too many potatoes). I added mushrooms and bacon pieces and it was excellent. I let my man be in charge of the grill (he wouldn't have it any other way) so he had to cook them with no instructions other than "flip them halfway through". On the bottom I had written I LOVE YOU and drawn pretty pictures all over the foil. He loved it! Said he felt like he was back in high school.

Cooking Light magazine's Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2001
Good recipe to serve with pasta and garlic bread. It was easy and fast, I already had all the ingredients so it was convenient. Next time I won't smother it completely in sauce because I like a crisper outside. My 4 year old found it too chewy and didn't like it at all (ok, she spit it out)

Cheeseburger Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2001
I used ground turkey instead of hamburger because my 4-year-old doesn't like red meat, and since we're watching what we eat i used low-fat sour cream and cheese. I thought it was really good and very filling. I think next time I'll use onion powder instead of soup mix, too oniony.
