Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
I really liked these!! I would use more cream cheese as other reviews have said, and soften it first. I used salsa instead. They were delicious...though, didn't seem like a fast recipe. I did the whole box of shells and was glad I did. To find 18 that were whole was a close call, but I bought generic. Maybe that was it.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
ok, this isn't truly fair to THIS recipe because I didn't have kidney beans or green beans, but it was still a really yummy base, so thus the 5 stars. to make up for the missing ingredients, i added a box of uncle bens long grain wild rice and a little more water to compensate. it may be because I am sick right now, but I am LOVING it, especially with real parm on top. mmm.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2011
This review is slightly off since I used bouillon powder instead of the broths and I added garlic and poultry seasoning as per other's suggestions. With that said, my family loved it! I'm sure it would be even better with the chicken and vegetable broths as the recipe calls. Yum.

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Excellent consistency, used lima beans and added a can of whole corn as well. I cooked all my meat in a slow cooker (after braising beef) with salt, pepper, and old bay. The meat mix alone was incredible (I used no ground meat, but beef stew cubes, chicken breast, and pork tend.) I still cooked it for three house, with the whole bell pepper...didn't really understand the purpose for that. It was so good though.

Mom's Secret Recipe Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Well, I did change things a little, which I don't like reading in reviews, but here you go: I used beef stew meat, olive oil, diced tomatoes and added italian seasoning since I didn't have the italian-style stewed--whoops, I added a little bit of garlic pepper, but I doubt enough to make a difference...I also added maybe 1/4 c red wine and more salt and pepper. The second 45 min. I kept the stew at med. heat since things weren't softening quick enough. At the end I added maybe 1.5 T cornstarch to thicken and brought to a boil again. Yum, but then again, I love beef stew!

Tangy Pineapple Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
My family really liked it! Though, I have to say that I did end up adding extra ingredients. I reduced the honey a bit b/c I got lazy and didn't feel like squeezing out 1/4 C and I added maybe 2-3 T of soy sauce and a few shakes of cayenne. My toddler loved it too!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I added the eggs and wish that I hadn't. I ended up with dry mac with globby cheese, not creamy in the slightest. I followed one reviewers suggestion of melting the cheese, butter, and cream together and I think it helped, but then egg (even tempered) still made it globby during baking. I'd say leave out the egg and bake it for much less time--15 min or so. The taste was great though as far as mix of cheese goes.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
This recipe tasted pretty good! I have no idea what kind of red wine I used, other than it was dirt cheap. I would suggest flipping the meat over half way through cooking. I may have used over two lbs of meat...I don't really know, but I did have to cook this for a good 1.5 hrs and that's after kicking it up to 400 the last 20 min. just to get it on the table. I used a meat therm. to gauge readiness. However, it was very tender. For the two cups of wine it seems the taste was good, though a bit winey, with one package of gravy mix, but I had to separately boil the juices and add cornstarch to get it to thicken--and that wasn't even gravy consistency. I agree with someone's review that the sauce tastes great with homemade mashed potatoes.
